Obituary: Roberta Barhydt, 94 Yarmouth \ Roberta Barhydt, 94, of Yarmouth died on 5, 2014 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough, with her family at her side and her faithful companion dog, Bea, at her feet. Roberta was born on 12, 1919 in Toms River, NJ, a daughter of Georgia and Robert Denniston. Roberta studied to be an x-ray technician in New York City, after which she returned to Schenectady to work at Ellis Hospital and in private practice. In 1948 she married Harvey George Barhydt and together they raised their two daughters in Guilderland, NY where Roberta lived until 2006. Most recently, she lived with both of her daughters. Roberta was known as Denny to all family and friends, which was the nickname affectionately given to her by Harvey. Throughout her life Roberta was known for her unfailing devotion to nurture and care for family, and particularly for her granddaughters as their Nanna. She also possessed many creative talents, including playing the piano and organ, drawing, knitting and sewing. Roberta lovingly tended her indoor plants, enjoyed bird watching, entertained and cooked for large family gatherings, and was an accomplished apple pie baker. In later years, she had the opportunity to travel with her sister, Nancy, and best friend, Cathy Hochanadel. Their travels and sense of adventure took them far and wide, overseas and throughout the U.S. Robertas independence and strength of spirit served her well as did her warmth and gentle love. Roberta is survived by her daughter Barbara Barhydt and her husband John Duncan of Yarmouth and their daughters, Meredith and Lauren Duncan; her daughter Elizabeth Barhydt and her husband William Hart of Grandview, NY; her sister Nancy Jeffers of Sea Isle City, New Jersey; her sister-in-law Joan Van Siclen of New Paltz, New York; her cousin Doris Cassiday; her nieces Peg Van Siclen and Vicki McKeever and her nephews John Jeffers and Jim Jeffers; and many great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Harvey in 1976, her niece Micki McAllister, and her brothers-in-law Herbert Van Siclen and Dr. Jack Jeffers. She will be greatly missed by Anne Fessler, Jim Hoke, Michael Hochanadel, and many other close friends. services will be held in the Newburgh area later this spring with burial in Woodlawn , New Windsor, New York. Obituary: Auburn-Roland A. Bard, 92, of Lewiston Me. passed away 29th, 2014. He was Born 4, 1922, in Fort Kent ME, the son of Alphee A. Bard and Yvonne Dubois. During his early years Roland worked as a taxi driver in Fort Kent. His enjoyment of cars and driving continued throughout his life. He served in the U.S. Army. Roland moved to Lewiston and was employed at Bates Mill for 36 years, while working weekends for Blanchette Moving . He started volunteering at Ss. Peter and Paul Church, now called The Basilica, as a Collector, Eucharistic Minister and served at many funeral services, for over 50 years. Roland enjoyed camping, fishing and spending time with family and friends. He was married in Connors New Brunswick Canada on 12th 1955 to Annette Oakes. He is survived by his wife Annette, four children; N. Diane Poirier and her husband Roland; Nancy S. Bard; Susan D. Stanford and her husband Donald; and Dennis R. Bard. Grandchildren: Kristina A. Bouchard and husband Christopher; Ryan G. Poirier; and Nicole L. Poirier; and two great-grandchildren River & Oliver Bouchard. Also brothers Noel Bard and Lucien Bard and sisters; Rita Johnston; Antoinette Audibert; and Rena Lemieux. He was pre-deceased by four sisters and four brothers. Obituary: John Baptist Bard, born 9, 1928 in Fort Kent, Maine, died on 21; he was 82 years old. John attended St. Francis de Sales school in Waterville, and at the early age of 15, entered the Blessed Sacrament Seminary in Hyde Park, NY. Later, taking the vows of poverty and chastity, he became ordained as a Brother of the Blessed Sacrament. During 1944 to 1980, John served his Lord in his chosen profession in various seminaries, including Suffern, New York, Hyde Park, New York, and Cleveland, Ohio. Around 1980, John received a special dispensation from the Pope, took a sabbatical from the religious life and never returned to the seminary. He worked for a year at the Pittsburg Plate Glass in New York, and later moved to Waterville Maine, where he became the finish carpenter for Leo F. Poulin, Contractors of Winslow. In May of 1993, he married Jeannine (Caron) Veilleux. John found great joy and pleasure in working with wood; he crafted many bookcases, cabinets, tables which he generously gave to the members of his family and friends. His craftsmanship can be seen at various places, including St. Francis Church and First Baptist Church in Waterville. John is survived by his wife of 18 years, Jeannine; children; Monique and Daniel Gilbert of Oakland, Raymond and Angela Veilleux of Chelsea, Jeanne and David Gilbert of Chelsea and Ronald and Tina Veilleux of a, brothers Philip J. of a, and Leonard J, of Perry, sisters Edwidge Rossignol of Madison, Cecile Rossignol of Broad Brook, CT., Theresa and Roger LaBrecque of Waterville, Leone Labreck of Winslow, and Jan and Sam Goddard of China, 5 grandchildren, one great great granddaughter, several nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his father and mother ( Hilaire and Emma Dufour Bard), a brother, Lucien, and a sister, Virginia Hathorn. Special acknowledgement and thanks is given to Johns extended family, Jeannines family, for the love and support given to John during his illness. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Hospice for their care. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make a donation to Reach Hospice at P.O.
