Obituary: Jordan Charles Bordelon, 22, a native and resident of Baton Rouge, LA passed away on , 27, 2012 in Valdosta, Georgia. A graduate of Our Lady of Mercy Elementary School, Jordan attended and graduated from St. Michael the Archangel High School. During his four years at SMHS, Jordan, also referred to as Jtrain by his teammates, played a number of sports including cross country, soccer and track for which he received the Warrior Tradition award. Upon graduation, Jordan entered in the United States Air Force in which he served a tour of duty in Iraq and and another in Afghanistan and was stationed at Moody Air Force Base. Affectionately known on the base as Radio his service awards include: The NATO medal, Air Force Training Ribbon, Air Force Expeditionary Service Ribbon with Gold Border, Air Force Overseas Ribbon Short tour, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Air Force Good Conduct Medal, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, Meritorious Unit Award and the Air Force Medal Achievement Medal. Jordan was known for his wonderful sense of humor, his outgoing personality, and his extraordinarily fit physical condition. He leaves behind his father Jonny Bordelon, mother Jacqualine Fa-Kouri Bordelon, younger brother Jacob Bordelon; grandmothers: Grammie Dot Bordelon, Patricia Momo Pat Perkins Fa-Kouri, and Gran Sue Sue Fa-Kouri Broussard; uncles: David Fa-Kouri, Kenny Fa-Kouri, and Andy Lechuga; aunts: Angela Fa-Kouri, Jeanie Lechuga, Joy Bordelon, and Julie Knickerbocker; and numerous cousins and many friends. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks on , 5, 2012 from 5pm until 9pm and continuing on , 6, 2012 at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church from 9am until a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30am. He is survived by his children Theresa Bordelon, Rhonda Bordelon, Marty Bordelon, Sharon Taylor Thibodeaux, Cynthia Wall, Sandra Lockwood, Becky Hyde, Bruce Bourgeois, his loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his first wife, Ethel McLeod. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Alice Bordelon, siblings Burton, Louis Jr., Ida, and Daisy, and his parents Louis Bordelon Sr. and Martha Olivia Guillory Bordelon. He was a parishioner of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Laplace and a member of the choir. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Obituary: James Courtney Bordelon, Sr. entered into heaven on , 26, 2011, with his loving family at his side. Devoted husband of Elizabeth r Bordelon of 58 years. Loving father of James C. Bordelon, Jr. (Sindy), Andre J. Bordelon (Gail), Rene P. Bordelon (Jeanne) and the late Jeffrey M. Bordelon. Father-in-law of Santine D. Bordelon. Jim was a very proud grandfather of 15 grandchildren and great grandfather of 9 great grandchildren. Son of the late Minnie Bordelon and Wilkin Joseph Bordelon. Brother of the late Beryl B. Desselle. Jim was 80 years of age, a native of Bordelonville, LA , and a lifelong resident of Kenner for nearly 55 years. He served proudly in the U.S. Army during the Korean War where he was highly decorated for his valor having received 3 Purple Hearts. Years after returning to the New Orleans area, he founded and operated Bordelon Meat Market in Kenner for more than 20 years. His career then shifted to the role of Support Manager at the original Walmart store in Harahan , LA. and culminated with his retirement in 2000. For his service, he was honored as part of the ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Walmart Supercenter on Jefferson Highway. Jim was also a founding parishioner of St. Jerome Catholic Church where he proudly served as a Proclaimer of the Word and a member of the parish council. He was honored to receive the Order of Saint Louis and to also be among the first Eucharistic Ministers appointed by Archbishop Phillip Hannan . The Bordelon family wishes to thank his wonderful caregivers for their exceptional kindness and overwhelming compassion. In lieu of flowers, mass intentions and devotions are preferred.
