Obituary: services for Bolden P. Bodin Sr. will be celebrated , 7, 2015, at 1:00 PM at Iberts Mortuary in Franklin. He will be laid to rest in Franklin . Father Lloyd Benoit will conduct the services. A gathering of family and friends will be held at Iberts from 11:00 AM until time of service, with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 12:30 PM, led by his granddaughter, Becky Haydel. Serving as pallbearers will be Deborah Verdin, Kevin Paul Verdin, Thomas Bodin Jr., Paul Bodin, C.J. Buteau, and Torrey Haydel. Mr. Bodin was a native of Jeanerette and a resident of Franklin for the past 69 years, who passed away at the age of 89 on , 2, 2015, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical in Lafayette. A skilled carpenter, Mr. Bolden built his own home from the ground up, where he made a life with his wife and children. His passions in life were fishing, hunting, and most importantly spending time with his family, especially for crab-boils and BB-Qs. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Survivors include his four children, Patricia B. Verdin, Bolden Bodin Jr. and his wife Penny G., Jacqueline B. Buteau and her husband Curris, and Thomas Bodin Sr. and his wife Patrice; 12 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and 8 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice Landry Bodin; a great grandchild, Lawrence Haydel; his parents, Denis and Antoinette Bodin; three brothers and a sister; and a son-in-law, Paul Verdin. Obituary: Joyce Baehr Bodet, age 87, beloved wife of 62 years to Jean P. (Jay) Bodet and devoted mother of Suzanne Bodet Kropog (Jim), Jean (Jay) Bodet, Jr. (Lynn), René P. Bodet (Amy), and Andrée Bodet Caillet (Frank), passed away peacefully on 28, 2016. She is also survived by her ten grandchildren: Kelly (Paul), Ryan (Jennifer), Tres, Katy, Gabrielle, Amelia, Joshua, Celeste, Camille, and Blake. She is also survived by her younger sister, Judy Baehr Powers. She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Hazel Baehr, her in-laws, C. Adrien and Cecilia Bodet, and her twin sister, Joan Baehr Weaver. Joyce was a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy and attended Newcomb where she and her twin were Tulane cheerleaders in 1946. She later worked as a secretary for NOPSI and as a receptionist for attorney Joseph Windmeyer. Joyce’s family is immensely grateful to the ICU medical staff at Ochsner Hospital along with Passages Hospice for their diligence and compassion. Family and friends are invited to attend visitation at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church on Metairie Rd. from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on , 1, 2016. His company did much of the electrical work involved in the construction of schools in Jefferson Parish and the Archdiocese of New Orleans in the 1960s. He established a reputation for consistently good work and dependable and knowledgeable employees. He was a member of the Krewe of Carrollton for over 50 years and reigned as King in 1997. He was the first King in the history of the Krewe to reign with a granddaughter , Alison, as his Queen. That was the highlight of his later years, as he was a devoted member of the Krewe. He also cooked for the monthly meetings for many years, earning the name of Chef Boy-R-Bode. He was a member of IBEW Local 130 for 65+ years. He was also a member of the IBEW Local 130 Retirees Club and Metairie Lions Club. I haven had this much fun since........... He has fought the good fight, he has kept the faith. May he rest in peace.
