Obituary: Roland J. Blanchard, 69 of Belle Rose passed away , 3, 2014, after a courageous battle with Parkinsons disease. He never met a stranger and always had a smile on his face. Roland was a member of St. Jules Catholic Church, and enjoyed helping with Allons Manger and the food bank, he was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, and Cajun Chefs. Visitation will be , 6, 2014, 9:00 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at St. Jules Catholic Church with Rev. Andrew Merrick, celebrant. Entombment will be in St. Jules Mausoleum under the direction of Ourso , Donaldsonville. Survivors include his mother; Therese Cedotal Blanchard, his sisters; Isabelle Mabile, Elsie Webre and husband David, half-sisters; Cecile Mabile and husband Carroll, and Shirleen Landry, several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Obituary: Paul Joseph Blanchard Paul entered eternal peace at his home on 14th at 8:00 a.m., at the age of 60 years. He was a native and lifelong resident of New Orleans. Loving husband of Deborah McKenna Blanchard and devoted father of John Paul Blanchard and Alan Joseph Blanchard. Preceded in death by his father Harold Louis Blanchard, Sr., his mother Edna Martinez Blanchard, and his brother Harold Louis Blanchard, Jr. Survived by his sisters Diane Balnchard and Robbin Hardee. Cherished and loved by many aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Paul was a graduate of Delgado with an Associates Degree in Visual Communications - Advertising Art. He was a graphic illustrator for Maison Blanche for 10 years and a Commercial Art Instructor for Audubon for 8 years. During his career he gained many lifelong friends. He was an Eucharistic Minister and parishioner of St. Dominic Church. He was a former Social Director of the St. Dominic Mens Club. He was a Block Captain post Katrina to help with the recovery of Lakeview. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Memorial Service and Mass on , 18th at St. Dominic Church, 775 Harrison Avenue, New Orleans, LA. Visitation will be held at 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with mass starting at 1:00 p.m. In Lieu of flowers donations to your favorite charity is appreciated. |
