Obituary: Louis Hansen Burden, 84, of Louisville was born on May 25, 1932 in Beaver Dam Kentucky to the late Wavy and Lillie (Butler) Burden, and passed from this life on 25, 2017. He was a retired employee for Brown & Williamson, a longtime member of Shively Baptist Church, an Army veteran, and a active member of the Alumni Association of Campbellsville University where he attended college. Obituary: Joe Loyd Burden, 67, of Philpot, passed away Sun. May the 11th 2014 at Owensboro Regional Hospital. He was born the 14th 1947 in Daviess Co. A son of David R. and Jenny B .Laslie Burden. Joe lost his dad in 1984, his mom in 2009, and a sister Bonnie R Baird in 2003. He was a retired school bus driver for the Daviess Public Schools. He served in the Army in which he served two tours in Viet Nam. Mr. Burden was of the Baptist faith. Joe was a very special person to all that knew him. He was a loyal dad, grandad, son, brother and friend. He was a very talented person with many interests but loved playing his guitar and fishing. Joes family was everything to him and will always miss him, but take comfort in knowing he is at peace in the arms of Jesus, and all his pain is gone. He is survived by 2 sons; Bryan ( Cindy ) Burden of Paducah Ky. Jimmy (Wanda) Burden of Owensboro Ky. Two grandsons Logan and Gaberial Burden Of Owensboro. A granddaughter, who was a very special little girl who made his world complete, Rebecca Lynn Burden of Owensboro. Three brothers; William (Lynn) Burden of Owensboro, David (Charlene) Burden of Pinehurst, Idaho and Ronald ( Sally) Burden of Lexington Ky. Three sisters; Evelyn Bellamy of Whitesville, Nikki (David ) Richard of Evansville IN and Sharon (Jeff) Nichols of Lewisport Ky. Many loving nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Obituary: Jenny Bell Laslie Burden, 88, of Lewisport, passed away on , 12, 2009 in Owensboro. She was born on Oct. 13, 1920 in Breckenridge Co., Ky. to the late Arthur and Mary Carmen Laslie. She was of the Baptist faith, enjoyed spending time with her family, flower gardening, and going to yard sales. She also loved to sew and quilt having made beautiful quilts for her children and grandchildren. She loved music especially when her sons played their guitars and sang for her. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Burden in 1984, a daughter, Bonnie Baird in 2003, sisters, Anna Mae Banken in 1953 and Lena Shouse in 1991, and a brother, Lee Allen Laslie in 1970. Left to miss her always are four sons, William S. Burden and wife Lynn of Ensor, David Burden and wife Charlene of Pinehurst, ID, Joe Burden of Philpot, and Ronald Burden and wife Debra of Owensboro, three daughters, Evelyn Bellamy and husband James of Whitesville, Melva Richard and husband David of Evansville, and Sharon Nichols and husband Jeff of Lewisport, 21 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, and 19 great great grandchildren, a brother, Charles Laslie of Ensor, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Services will be 2:00 P.M. , 16, at the Glenn Chapel with Rev. Brian Adkins officiating. Burial will follow in Yellow Creek . Visitation will be from 2:00-6:00 P.M. and after 10:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lewisport Volunteer Fire Dept. to benefit the Emergency Shelter, P. O. Obituary: James Bob Burden Sr., 75, of Maceo, went to be with the Lord on May 15, 2015 at Owensboro Regional Hospital. Bob was born in Daviess on 7, 1940 to the late Oscar Owen and Mary Jones Burden. Bob worked for Commonwealth Aluminum and retired after 31 years of service. When Bob wasn working you would often find him fishing or enjoying one of his other hobbies which included reading and watching westerns, listening to music, or thrift shopping. Family time was important to Bob, and he loved cooking for his family. It has been said that he made up the best barbeque chicken in town and often served it with fresh vegetables from his garden. Faith was important to Bob and he was a member of Maceo Baptist Church. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his loving wife Betty Mae Shouse Burden; a granddaughter, Amber Michelle Burden; and two sisters, Dorothy Hutchason and Betty Payne. Survivors include his children, James R. (Bobbie Gail) Burden Jr., Daniel (Angie) Burden, Barry Burden, Rick (Tina) Burden, Debbie (Ed) Winters, Shirley (Butch) Brown; 17 grandchildren, a whole mess of great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. The funeral service for Bob will be held 2 pm , May 18, 2015 at Glenn and Crematory. Bro. Scott Ford will officiate. Visitation will be 1 until 6 pm on and after 12 on at the funeral home.
