Obituary: Margaret Purdy Barker, 78, of Owensboro died , Nov. 8, 2002, at her home. The Daviess native was a retired Attendance Clerk for the Houston Independent School District and a member of St. John United Church of Christ in Houston, Texas. She was preceded in death by a son Sammy Barker and two daughters, Jan Bethea and Susan Sharp. Survivors include a son, Johnny Barker of Houston, Texas; one brother, Emmett Purdy, Jr. of Owensboro; several nieces and nephews; 2 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Services will be held at 4 p.m. on , 10, 2002 at Glenn in Owensboro. Visitation is from 2-4 p.m. on at the funeral . Services will also be held at 11 a.m. on , 12, 2002 at St. John United Church of Christ in Houston, Texas. Burial will be in St. John United Church of Christ in Houston, Texas.
