Obituary: Thomas Wyatt Tommy Ball, III, age 60 of Searcy, died , 21 in Searcy. He was born 18, 1954 at Fort Riley, Kansas to Thomas Wyatt Ball, Jr. and Mary Ann Shelton Ball. He is survived by his wife of 12 years, Benita Ball; three sons, Seth Breaux of Lake Charles, Louisiana, Matthew Ball and wife Brandy of Austin, Texas, Nicholas Ball of Pasadena, Texas; one sister, Elizabeth Perdue and husband Wayne of Friendswood, Texas; one brother, Randy Ball and wife Edelcia of Kingwood, Texas; one brother-in-law, Ricky Breaux of Port Arthur, Texas; three grandchildren; and several loving nieces and nephews. Obituary: Theodore Richard Ted Ball Jr., 81, of Bentonville passed away on , Oct. 11, 2014, at Circle of Life Hospice. Ted was born in Danbury, Neb., on Oct. 10, 1933, to Theodore and Pearl (Oliver) Ball Sr. Ted served in the United States Army as a corporal in the Korean War. He moved to Bentonville in the 1960s from Placerville, Calif. He worked as a brick mason for Alvin Murphy for many years. Ted was as lovable as he was stubborn. His work ethic was matched by few and was as reliable as the day is long. He loved watching movies, spending time outside and his wit was unmeasurable. He was a great mechanic, baker and, I bet, he could have been a candlestick maker. There wasn't much he couldn't master. Ted loved his family and he loved baseball. He coached his niece, Shonda's, softball team in the 70s. He rarely missed any of his nieces and nephews soccer and baseball games. Ted was a friend of many and a common sight at Bentonville's baseball parks over the last 50 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a half-brother, Fred Hollis of ton. Survivors include nieces, Shonda Kimmel, Sue Gibson, Lena Hollis; great-nieces, Richardson (Scott), Alise Dodson (Matt), Dashya Kimmel, Raisa Bischoff (Matthew); great-nephew, Jesse Kimmel; great-great-nieces, Madeleine Richardson, Taryn Richardson, Mia Dodson; great-great-nephews, Tristan Richardson, Nicklaus Dodson, Benjamin Dodson; sister, Barbara Sleeth (Gene) of California; brother, Harold Ball (Shirley); and cousin, Alberta King of Rogers. In honor of our wonderful Ted's spirit, we close with a baseball quote that fits him so well and will forever bring a smile to our face: "Why does everybody stand up and sing Take Me Out to the Ballgame when they're already there?" - L. Anderson. Uncle Ted will always be with us at the old ballgame. A graveside service will be held at Fayetteville National on Oct. 24 at 2 p.m. |

Obituary: Phyllis Jane (Reese) Ball, age 78, of Mansfield, AR, passed away , 2, 2015 in Mercy Hospice, Fort Smith, AR. Born Oct 15, 1937 in Pine Township, PA, to Carl La Rue and Erla Grace Lawton Reese, she worked as a bookkeeper for her husband and fathers Kerr McGee Service Station in Mansfield, was a typesetter for The Mansfield Citizen Newspaper for 28 years and later worked as a cashier for CVs Family Foods. She was a member of the Mansfield First United Methodist Church, was a participant of Hartford Diet club, the Methodist Church Exercise class and Bible study, enjoyed reading, and was an avid supporter of community events. She was preceded in death by her husband George William Ball on 7, 2002, who she married on 6, 1955, and a son, Roger Lee Ball who passed away on 14, 2013. She is survived by two sisters and one brother; Thelma Karen Van Winkle and husband Gene of Van Cleave, MS, Crickett Thomas and husband Rick of Mansfield, AR, and Carl Kenneth Reese and wife Thresea of Fort Smith, AR. She is survived by three daughters and spouses; Linda and Jim McMahon of Plano, TX, Sharon and Rick McDaniel of Mansfield, AR, and Lori and Michael Cramer of Heber Springs, AR. She had seven grandchildren, Tiffany, Crystal, Megan, Nicholas, LeDonna, Rhonda, William and four step-grandchildren, Chris, Kevin, Justin, Christopher; nine great-grandchildren and thirteen step great-grandchildren. She has numerous nieces, nephews and friends who loved her and will miss her greatly. She is also survived by special family friend, Sheri Hopkins, and Jr. Service will be at 10:00 am, , 6 at Mansfield First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Michael Topham and the Rev. Sammye Rink officiating. Burial will follow at Coop Prairie in Mansfield. Pallbearers will be Blake Thomas, Christian Lytle, William Ball, James Atchison, Nicholas Ronzzo, Jarrod Carson and Willie Stone. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dave Johnson, Herchel Williams, Richard Henson, Bruce Hainley, Jim Udouj and Danny Dehart. Viewing will be from 1-8 p.m. and family will visit with friends from 6-8 p.m. at McConnell in Greenwood .
