Obituary: Marlene Marie (Dunford) Van Bibber, the daughter of William and Leona (Helmich) Carrison, was born on 8, 1939, in Estherville, Iowa. She passed away on , 25, at Bickford of Overland Park, Kansas at the age of 73. Marlene received her education in the Estherville, Iowa School System. On 5, 1958, she was united in marriage to Arland Leroy Dunford in Petersburg, Minnesota. a couple of brief stays in Swea City, Iowa and Austin, Minnesota, the coupled moved to Rochelle, Illinois where Marlene flourished in her duties as a wife and homemaker. In 1981, the family moved to Omaha, Nebraska. While in Omaha, Marlene pursued a career in management at Arbys. In 1989, a year after Arland, her husband of 30 years had passed away, Marlene moved to Overland Park, Kansas and provided Para services and school lunch program support for the Shawnee Mission School District. In 1991, she became office manager at RTI Consultants remained there until her retirement in 2008. On 25, 1994, Marlene was united in marriage to Roy Van Bibber in Shawnee, Kansas where the couple made their home. Marlene held several offices in the American Legion Auxiliary in Shawnee, Kansas and was district president. Left to cherish her memories are her husband, Roy of Shawnee, Kansas; children, Chris Dunford of Omaha, Nebraska; Daughter Tresa Kalfut of Bellevue, Nebraska; three grandchildren, Allen, Stephanie, and Christina McKee of Bellevue, Nebraska; three sisters, Dorothy (Bob) Weir of Estherville, Iowa, Shirley Linn of Fayetteville North Carolina, Lavonne Kilmer of Estherville, Iowa; three brothers, Harold (Shirley) Carrison of Mexico, Missouri, Dennis (Yvonne) Carrison of LaVista, Nebraska, Bill (Connie) Carrison of Overland Park, Kansas; cousins, nieces and nephews and their children who adored Marlene for the love she showed them. Marlene has been preceded in death by her parents, husband Arland; sister Darlene; brother Richard. |

Obituary: Mary Margaret Mahoney Bianco, 89, of Prairie Village, KS, passed away on , 23, 2014. Visitation will be , 27th, 5:30-7:30 pm. at McGilley State Line Chapel. Rosary will follow at 7:30. Service will be 10 am., , 28th at St. Elizabeths Church, 2 E. 75th St. Entombment will be in Mount Calvary , 38th & State Ave. in Kansas City, Kansas. Contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or Sister Servants of Mary. Mary M. Bianco was born Mary Margaret Mahoney on 9, 1925 in Kansas City, Kansas, to Margaret and James Mahoney. Her father passed away when she was 4 and she was an only child. She sang her way through St. Peters Grade School, Ward High School and St. Marys University. Mary met her future husband, Harry J. Bianco, while singing to the soldiers at the Kansas City USO during WWII. the war ended and she had completed college, they were married in 1948. As newlyweds they lived in Sandstone, Minnesota, where Harry taught at the high school and Mary gave private vocal lessons. Two years later, they moved to Kansas City, Missouri to be near her mother and 4 aunts. Harry taught at Northeast High School while Mary stayed at home to raise their three children. She and Harry were quite active at St. James Parish. She helped out in any way she could at the parish church and school. She was a PTA member, officer and eventually, president. She was also a Girl Scout Leader for numerous years. In 1975, they moved into their Prairie Village home where they lived for 39 years. the children were grown, she worked at Gallery on the Plaza and Halls. Marys main role in life as a nurturer continued as she took care of her mother, Margaret, and her Aunt Mamie in the last years of their lives. She also took loving care of Harry in his decline. Her family meant everything to her. She surrounded herself with framed family pictures and albums next to even more pictures and albums. In her later years her six grandchildren and 2 great- grandchildren filled her life with joy and love. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her aunts, her husband, Harry and twin infant children, Annetta and Margaret. She is survived by her children, Beth (Carl Migliazzo), Susie (Randy Shafer) and Joe (Cathy Bianco), six grand-children and 2 great-grandchildren. Mom (Gramma, G-G-Ma), no words can express how much we will miss you, but you have left behind so much for us to remember and value. Your humor, selflessness and creativity has colored our lives beyond measure. See you later, alligator. We love you more than bacon. |
