Obituary: Thelma Burton, 96, of Mt. Prospect went to her heavenly home on May 17, 2017. She is now at the Lords Table with her Savior and many loved ones. She was born in Bedford, Indiana on 17, 1920 to the late William S. and the late Gertrude (nee Taylor) Thompson. Thelma was the beloved wife of the late William M. Burton whom she married on 16, 1941. Shortly after their marriage, they moved from Indiana to Chicago. had two daughters, Nancy J. (Nick) Muriella and Susan C. (Kurt J.) Kaufhold. Thelma was blessed with 4 grandsons, Sam M. (Mariette) Muriella, William A. (Kim) Muriella and the late Kurt S. (Bessie Joy) Kaufhold and the late Kai W. Kaufhold and seven great-grandchildren, Nicholas (Kenna) Muriella, Nanci Muriella, Anthony Muriella, Heather (Chris) Abrego, Kirstin Kaufhold, Luca Muriella and Matthew Muriella and 3 great-great-grandchildren, Hayden Muriella, Grayson Kaufhold and Baby Abrego who will be born soon. Thelma was the dear sister of Gleathel (Darrell) Blackwell and was preceded in death by 9 brothers and sisters and a very special sister-in-law Marie (Burton) Williams. She was also the loving aunt of many nieces and nephews. Thelma was a retired hair stylist who enjoyed her family and friends. She loved watching game shows and playing card games later in life. She was living at the Lutheran in Arlington Heights at the time of her passing. We thank you mom for being a loving and wonderful mother. We love you and we will miss you greatly. She had a wonderful and long life. Visitation will be , May 31, 2017 from 3-8 PM with a funeral service at 7:00 PM at Lauterburg & Oehler , 2000 E. Northwest Highway, Arlington Heights. Graveside service and interment will be , 1, 2017 at 3:00 PM at Mitchell in Mitchell, Indiana. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Christian Life Church, 400 E. Gregory Street, Mt. Prospect, IL 60056 appreciated. |
