Obituary: Bloomington - Willie M. Bowie, 69, of Bloomington passed away on , 12, 2016 at 10:40 p.m. in Bloomington at Bloomington Rehabilitation and . Willie (known to most as Willie Mack) was born on 12, 1946 in Warren, Arkansas. He was the only son born to W. Mack and Ruth (Gardner) Bowie. Willie grew up in Warren, Arkansas and attended Bradley High School. graduation he moved to Chicago. He worked as a CNA for many years at Margaret Manor in Chicago and later retired from the Rehabilitation in Chicago. In 2007, Willie relocated to Bloomington to be closer to his son and his family. Leaving to cherish his memory are his father, W. Mack Bowie of Warren, Arkansas; his son Khary L. Bowie (Coretta Jackson) of Bloomington; three grandchildren, Khary R. Bowie, KhMara K. Bowie and Cearra Jackson, all of Bloomington; three sisters Barbara Bowie and Maxine Bowie King, both of Chicago and Mary Ann Bowie of St. Louis, MO; and his sons mother Margaret Pitchford of Chicago. Also surviving is a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Gardner Bowie, and one niece, Kimberly Bailey. Willie enjoyed playing the lottery and truly loved dancing and music, especially Smokey Robinson. He also found joy in attending services at Hallelujah Worship . Willie was a kind man and was the life of the party. Those who knew him best will remember him most for his style and flare. Willie Mack was known as a well-dressed man. He was deeply loved and will be sorely missed by his family and friends. Cremation rites will be accorded following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family. The family has entrusted Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial in Bloomington to handle arrangements for Willies service. Obituary: PEORIA ~ Shirley Kay Bowersock, 71, of Peoria, passed away at 5:11 p.m. , 13, 2015 at UnityPoint - Methodist in Peoria. Born 2, 1944 in Peoria to Forrest Levi and Alethea (Oldfield) Hargadine, she married Billy Don Miller in 1960. She later married Wesley Bowersock on 12, 1983 in Peoria. He survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Vicky Miller of Springfield; two sons, Donald (Lisa) Miller of Lutz, FL and David (Nancy) Miller of Acworth, GA; four grandchildren, Shanon, Travis, Mike and Hannah; and four great-grandchildren, Nathan, Talan, Hayden and Avery. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters and one very close cousin, Mary Lou Hagemann. Shirley worked at Fleming- Potter in Peoria for 25 years and 9 months, retiring 6, 1999 due to disability. She enjoyed crocheting, collecting porcelain dolls and old cookie jars. She also enjoyed visiting Walt Disney World. Shirley loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a member of Forrest Hill United Methodist Church in Peoria. Her visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. , 19, 2015 at Preston-Hanley s & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Carol Stufflebeam will officiate. services will be at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Mason City in Mason City. Memorial contributions may be given to American Cancer Society, 4234 N. Knoxville Ave. Peoria 61614.
