Obituary: Jimmy Jim Darrell Bittle, 79, died , 28, 2016 in the arms of his faithful wife Rosie at their home. He leaves his beloved wife of 53 years, Rosemary Argo Bittle; his son, Rex Bittle with his wife Gillian; his daughter Stacy Jones and her husband Jimmy; his daughter Rhetta Roy and her husband Chris; and seven grandchildren, Ansley Bittle, Jas Jones, Noah Bittle, Peyton Jones, Elijah Bittle, Seth Bittle, and Riley Roy. He is also survived by his favorite brother-in-law Albert Argo. Born in DeArmanville, Alabama and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, Jim was the son of John Rexford Bittle and Alice Lorene Taylor. In 1972, he and his family were transferred to Alabama where he found his love for Alabama Crimson Tide Football because of Coach Bear Bryant. From then forward his favorite greeting was a warm Roll Tide and he loved to spark conversation whether camaraderie or lighthearted rivalry. He has lived in Lawrenceville for the past 31 years. Jim worked many jobs around Atlanta in his youth including running a route for Colonial Bread, but settled into a successful sales career because of his congenial and well-loved personality. His quick wit and big heart drew people of all ages to him. In his 58 year career he worked in food sales for R.J. Reynolds Foods, Billy Lawrence Brokerage , Vulcan Pet Food, Campbell Soup , Mitsui, Inc., then Connell Foods before closing his career in auto sales with local dealership Colonial Pontiac GMC. He retired in 2012.He served as a faithful member and deacon at Lawrenceville church of Christ. He was best known for occupying the un-grumpiest Grumpy-Old-Man bench in the lobby to welcome all to the services, which was to ensure an orderly service by those participating in leading the worship. Then he sent all on their way with a lighthearted quip. He served his country in the Navy Reserve for seven years before marriage. He received an honorable discharge and will receive military honors at his funeral. Jim will be sorely missed but joyfully remembered by all those who knew and loved him throughout his life. under the direction of Eternal Hills , Snellville, GA. |

Obituary: The passing of Jeffery Stewart Bitler, Biff, ( 11, 1963 - 7, 2017) came as a total shock, but he left doing what he loved, in which family and friends are finding solace. Jeff is survived by his wife Barbara, sons Brent and David, brother David (Jodi), parents Ann and Drew Bitler, in laws Mary and Bob Ballinger, and his beloved nieces and nephews. Biff was a humble, hardworking, and genuine man; a true jack of all trades whom was afraid of little. He was seldom seen without a smile or without a story to tell. Strangers became instant friends and helped all without hesitation. A private family service will be held at this time. A Celebration of Life will be held in the coming weeks and details will be shared when arrangements are finalized. Jeff was incredibly active within his various caving communities. He would spend countless hours preparing for trips and sharing videos and stories with great enthusiasm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Southeastern Cave Conservancy in Jeff Bitlers honor at www.scci.org. |
