Obituary: Mary Arnold Binns of Atlanta died , 11, 2015. She was born 11, 1933 to Marie McLean Binns and Carlton Binns at Georgia Baptist Hospital. Miss Binns lived in Atlanta all of her life. She attended Tenth Street School and graduated from Henry Grady High School. Miss Binns graduated from Mercer University in Macon, completed her graduate work at Emory University and was a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma International Society of Women Educators. She was a lifelong member of Second - Ponce de Leon Baptist Church where she served as Deacon, School teacher, member of the Womens Missionary Union, Historical Committee and numerous other activities. Miss Binns was an active member of the Salvation Army Womens Auxiliary and Garden Hills Resident Association. She enjoyed her condo at St. Simons, travel, bridge, her supper club and book club. Mary served as an English teacher and administrator at Northside High School. She took an active part on the annual staff and many other activities. Mary later served as Director of Alumnae Affairs at Mercer University until her retirement. She is survived by her brother, John Binns, and cousin, Mrs. Laura Cheek, both of Atlanta. A funeral service is scheduled for , 15, 2015 at 2 oclock at Second - Ponce de Leon Baptist Church. The family will receive friends an hour and a half prior to the service. Interment will follow at Westview . In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either Second - Ponce de Leon Baptist Church, 2755 Peachtree Road, NE, Atlanta, Georgia 30305 or Salvation Army Womens Auxiliary, 2090 North Druid Hills Road, NE, Atlanta, Georgia 30329. |

Obituary: Mr. David Adams Binnion, age 75, of Winder, Georgia passed away 1, 2016 at his residence. A native of Texas, he was a Son of the late Hank and Irma Adams Binnion. Mr. Binnion had lived in Barrow since 2000, and was a former resident of Monroe, Georgia and Wichita Falls, Texas. He was an engineer with Duck Head Apparel. Mr. Binnion had attended Calvary Baptist Church at Carl. Surviving are Wife Joyce Mote Binnion of Winder, Daughters, Dana Binnion and Laura Binnion both of Denton, Texas, Grandchildren, Marlow Abrams of Lenexa, Kansas and Aaron Binnion of Denton, Texas, Brother, Barry Binnion, and Sister, Sue Bork, both of Wichita Falls, Texas. The Family will receive friends , 5, 2016 from 5-8 P. M. at the funeral home. A Service will be held , 6, 2016 at 11:00 A. M. from the Chapel of Carter with Dr. Brian Swafford and Mr. Doug Swafford officiating. Interment will be in Barrow Memorial Gardens.
