Obituary: Morris Quentin Bearden, 74, of Emerson went home to be with the Lord , 26th at Kennestone Hospital in Marietta. The youngest child of William Roland Bearden and Ethel Millsap Bearden, Mr. Bearden was born and raised in Atco, a fact of which he was very proud. He had been a resident of Emerson for the past 52 ½ years after his marriage to his wife, Barbara Bearden, on 14, 1962. In addition to his parents, Mr. Bearden was preceded in death by a sister Faye B. Bahr and her husband William C. Bahr and three brothers, Edward Bearden, Ray Bearden and Wallace Bearden as well as his in-laws, Mr. and Mrs. Henry G. Bearden. Mr. Bearden lived a happy and full life always having a smile on his face and an encouraging word. He was also quite the jokester and loved to make others laugh. He never met a stranger and considered everybody he met as his friend. He was a 1958 graduate of Cass High School. He was employed by Union Carbide/Clorox for 34 years before retiring in 1992. In 1968, at the age of 28, he was ordained as a minister by Emerson Baptist Church. For the next 28 years, he pastored a number of churches in Bartow and surrounding counties before his health began to fail. He preached in many revivals, conducted many funerals and officiated at many weddings over the years. During his lifetime, Mr. Bearden impacted many lives through his ministry and friendship. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Woodstock where he previously taught school and was a member of the senior adult choir. He enjoyed visiting local churches, especially those that he had once pastored. Mr. Bearden is survived by his devoted wife, Barbara, sons, Jeff Bearden and his wife Melissa of Adairsville and Darrin Bearden and his wife Ingrid of Alpharetta and daughter Kerri Holmes and her husband Michael of Kennesaw. He and Barbara were blessed with eight grandchildren, Michael and his wife Kelli, Taylor and his wife Marissa, Andrea, Adriana, Mariana, Esther, Ethan and Evan. He loved them all very much and was looking forward to the birth of his first great grandchild. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Margaret Bearden of Madison, Wisconsin, Lucille Bearden of Marietta, and Lorene Bearden of Emerson and his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Henry Wendell and Charlotte Bearden of Charlotte, North Carolina, a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and many, many friends. Visitation will be , 29 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at Owen . services will be held , 30th at 3:00pm at Pine Grove Baptist Church with Dr. Johnny Hunt, Rev. Charles Garrett, Rev. Obituary: Kathleen Dyar Bearden died , 21, at her home in Cassville. She was born 30, 1924 in St. Clair , Alabama, moved to Adairsville in her youth, and lived her entire adult life in Cassville. Kathleen is survived by five of her six children: Larry (Claudette) of Birmingham; and Michael (Jan), Kathye (Walt) Sullins, Stanley (Merry), and Keith (Debbie) all of Cartersville; twelve grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren; and very special caregivers: Dianne Register, Myrtle Abernathy, Moneica Ward, Tammy Bennett, and her special niece Glenda Gwin. Preceding her in death were James, her sweetheart, loving husband, and best friend of 58 years; Stephen, a son; William and Mattie Dyar, her parents; and her ten brothers and sisters. Kathleen valued intellectual abilities and ethical work. She was salutatorian of her high school graduating class. As a young adult during the time of World War II, she worked in the spread house business making chenille bedspreads. While her children were young, she worked from her home with the U.S. Census Bureau and for several years as a saleswoman for Avon Cosmetics. With young, school-aged children, she returned to school in Rome, in 1961 became a licensed cosmetologist, and opened Cass Beauty Nook. She retired from her 30-plus-year career as owner/operator of Cass Beauty Nook. Kathleen was a devoted wife, mother and cherished friend to all who knew her. Her selfless life reflected a deep faith and cheerful disposition that always had others needs foremost in her thoughts and action - even to her last days and hours. Her family and host of friends admired and benefited from her limitless energy, generosity and interest in their welfare. Her love of God, family and friends continuously shined through her open home and empathetic attention to all with whom she came in contact. Her love was shared through an enduring avocation of Christian service in Trinity Baptist Church, where she and James served faithfully from its founding for almost fifty years. She also viewed her beauty shop business as a ministry, and her customers as friends and fellow pilgrims whom she served until and including the times of their passing. Her love of flowers and gardening was a lifelong pursuit which she incorporated into her activities as she ministered to others through her church, her business, and her family. Her example of selfless Christian service to all is the defining characteristic of her life. Interment will be at 10:00 a.m. , 24, 2011 at Oak Hill with grandsons serving as pallbearers. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. at Sam Jones Memorial United Methodist Church with the Reverend Roger Fisher officiating. During Julies life she worked as an executive assistant in the music industry at Atlantic and Universal Records in New York City. Julie used her good fortune to help her family, friends, and those in need in any capacity. Her passion was helping others, especially children that needed special attention, love and guidance. She also was an avid writer, and she chronicled her immediate family and dear friends lives for them in words, pictures, and mementoes. Julie was a historian for all intent and purpose, each aspect of her life has a detailed short story written by her to memorialize the time period. Julie also loved to use her analytical and logical reasoning skills. She was an ardent Scrabble, Bid Whist, and slot machine player. She especially liked to challenge others at games that required memory and deductive reasoning. In addition, to the games she loved playing she loved to share stories from her or anyone elses life. The urn that Julies earthly remains will be held in nicely sums up, in one sentence, how fondly she will be remembered: Julie Bearden: Mother to all she encountered Julie Wells-Bearden is survived and preceded in death by numerous family members. As she loved each family member and friends equally it is impossible to name them all individually. The family is grateful for the wonderful memories created in the last two weeks of her life. She was surrounded by family and friends. Charlie Bearden her ex-husband, Ella Johnson, Dorcas Dottie Parham, Cousin Delores and her husband, Shawnee Johnson, Nicole Gellineau, Joseph and Elizabeth Enang, Tijuana Touré, and Oumar Q Touré, Cornell Jefferson, Roger Wells and Michael Wells were some of the people that helped to put a smile on her face through the pain she endured in her last days. The family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support in many heart-felt forms from some many individuals. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn in Douglasville, , 8, 2014 at 3:00 PM. Services will be conducted , 8, 2014 at 3:00 PM from that Chapel of Jones-Wynn .
