Obituary: Joseph Stuart Auchter, 87 of Merritt Island Florida passed away on , 16 2014. Prior to living on Merritt Island, Mr. Auchter resided in Berkeley Heights, New Jersey for 26 years. Survived by his loving wife of 64 years Elizabeth Rourke Auchter, daughter Karen and husband Dennis Van Orden of Nazareth, Pennsylvania, son Clifford Auchter and wife Olympia of Berkeley Heights, New Jersey, daughter Loren and husband Henry Zachau of Princeton Junction, New Jersey, son Glen Auchter and wife Michele of Jupiter, Florida. Grandchildren: Joseph C. Auchter, Douglas Auchter, Courtney Auchter of Berkeley Heights, New Jersey, Sean Auchter, Morgan Auchter of Jupiter, Florida, Victoria Houck of Plainsboro, New Jersey, John and wife Megan Van Orden of Chatham New Jersey. Great grandchildren: Emily, Elizabeth, and Jack Van Orden. He is also survived by his sister Elaine Anderson of Fairfax, Virginia. He was predeceased by his brother Charles Auchter of Melbourne Beach, Florida Mr. Auchter was born on Staten Island where his family ancestors go back to pre-Revolutionary war times. Upon graduation from Curtis High School 1945, he enlisted in the United States Navy and served on the USS Colorado in the South Pacific. He was honorably discharged from the Navy and attended Wagner in Staten Island, New York where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry. He went on to work for Colgate Palmolive in New York. He began his career working in research and development for Colgate. During his 34 year career he traveled extensively covering six continents and over 35 countries. He retired as Director of Corporate Packaging in 1985. He volunteered his time as a troop leader for The Boy Scouts of America and was a merit badge counselor for stamp collecting. Joe maintained long-term friendships with childhood friends Tom Bulger and Bill Dobo both recently deceased. He traveled the globe for work and for pleasure along with his wife Betty. retired to Merritt Island to enjoy their golden years. moving to Merritt Island he joined the New Jersey Club and was an active member of the Cocoa Beach Sail and Power Squadron whose mission is to promote safe boating in local waterways. He enjoyed his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Joe also loved the water, fishing, and sailing, he was passionate about lighthouses in America and the preservation of these great landmarks. Obituary: AuBuchon, Michael G., 55 of Temple Terrace passed away , 27, 2015. He is survived by his loving wife, Renee; sons, Tyler and John; father, Leon; brother, Peter (Maureen) and many loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Irene. Michael was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and was a lifelong devout and passionate Steelers fan. He was also a proud graduate of Tampa Catholic High School. Michael completed both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in architecture at the University of Florida and was an architect with Rañon and Partners, Inc., Architects for over 22 years becoming the managing partner. Michael worked on numerous, meaningful projects including St. Joseph’s Hospital North and several Hillsborough and Sarasota high schools. Michael and Renee met at a local architecture firm while he was completing his internship. were married for over 24 years, during which Michael was a loving, and extraordinarily devoted husband and father. Michael was a devout Catholic and a member of The Catholic Student at USF. He will be greatly missed by family, friends, and coworkers. A funeral mass will be held at The Catholic Student at USF (13005 N. 50th Street) on , 3 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Michael’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. |
