Obituary: Bonnie Lou Atha (Chanay), age 79, of Sarasota, Florida, died , 14, 2017. She was born 9, 1938, to the late Russell and Mary (Mizer) Chanay, in Layland, Ohio. She graduated from Killbuck High School of Killbuck, OH in 1956. She married Donald W. Atha in 1957. She is preceded in death by her father, mother, brother and two sons, Craig and Kris. She is survived by her beloved husband of 60 years, Donald; sons, Douglas (Barbara) of Sarasota, Neil of North Port, Joel (Pam) of North Port, Corey (Eleanor) of Clearwater, daughter-in-law Loretta of Sarasota, 11 grandchildren (Heather, Jacob, Samantha, Hope, Lindsey, Leebo, Dusty, Justin, Alison, Madison, and Timothy) and 1 greatgrandchild Sophie. She is also survived by sister, Marilyn Jones of Killbuck, OH, brother Forest Chanay of Killbuck, OH, and many nieces and nephews. Bonnie loved to read and cook for her family. While raising her six boys, she was always dedicated to making a loving and respectful home. All who entered the home were welcomed with a warm meal and a piece of Texas Sheet Cake. She and Donald have owned and operated The Country Store Interiors for over 40 years. To her it was more than just a workplace, but a family. She considered all of the girls to be hard workers and dedicated to the great workmanship that has been produced over the years. She treasured all of the professional relationships from the front office staff, sales staff, and decorators. Family is receiving friends during a visitation on , 20, 2017 at the funeral home from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. services will be conducted at 2:00 pm in the Legacy Chapel at Palms-Robarts with Entombment services immediately following at Palms-Robarts Memorial Park Mausoleum: 170 Honore Avenue, Sarasota, Florida 34232.
