Obituary: Daniel Bruce Appelo passed away on 17, 2011. Dan is the beloved husband of Lisa Marie Walker Appelo and devoted father to Benjamin, Rachel, Nicholas, Seth, Zachary, Matthew and Annalise Appelo. Dan was born on 12, 1964 in East Orange, New Jersey. He spent several boyhood years in Johannesburg, South Africa and later moved to Gainesville, Florida, graduating from Buchholz High School in 1982. In 1984, Dan married his high school sweetheart, Lisa Marie Walker. He went on to earn a B.S. in Business Administration, with honors, from the University of Florida in 1987. For two consecutive years, Dan was president of Phi Beta Lambda business fraternity. Dan enjoyed a long career in the construction products industry. From 1987 - 2003, Dan worked for the Sherwin-Williams Co in sales and management positions. In 2003, Dan moved to Jacksonville as the Director of Human Resources of Coastal Construction Products Corporation and created a public works division, overseeing the repair and maintenance of bridges, water and sewer projects throughout Florida. Dan is well known in the industry for bringing new and innovative products to market, but more importantly for his integrity in all facets of work. Dan gave his life to the Lord at 7 years old. He was an active member of First Baptist Church, Jacksonville, and taught School for 6th grade boys. He was also active and held office in several statewide industry groups. Dan was inducted into Rotary of South Jacksonville in 2007 as a Paul Harris fellow, served as Treasurer for two years from 2009-2011 and was to serve as Secretary from 2011-2012. Dan was an avid fisherman, hunter and outdoorsman. He loved fly fishing and any experience in the field. He delighted in passing down these loves to his children and spent much time teaching them about the beautiful outdoors. Dan is survived by his wife, Lisa, and seven children: Benjamin, Rachel, Nicholas, Seth, Zachary, Matthew and Annalise; his mother, Jane Appelo (Bradenton); his brothers David (Port Charlotte), Jonathan (Bronson) and Peter (Los Angeles); and many dear friends and family. Obituary: Rose Emma (Schrimpe) Appelmann, 95, a resident of Aston Gardens in Naples since 2010, died 26, 2015. Rose was born 3, 1920 in a cobblestone house in Masbeth, NY, the youngest of four children born to Margaret (Schwamb) and William Schrimpe. At age five, Rose developed polio and had to learn to walk again. In spite of her handicap, she worked for many years after graduating high school for James McCreery Furniture Co. and JC Penney. She fell in love and married John David Appelmann on 26th, 1946 and had three children. In 1972, she moved from NY to Madison, CT and worked there as a school bus driver for 11 years. In 1985, Rose and Dave moved to a retirement community in Forked River, NJ where they enjoyed cruising, bus trips to Atlantic City and playing bridge. her beloved husband of 49 years died, Rose spent three months every year with her daughter and son-in-law on Marco Island and every Christmas in Charlotte, NC with her son and daughter-in-law; there she saw all her children and grandchildren. An avid mah jongg and bridge player, she also enjoyed many types of crafts and crocheting. She had a strong Lutheran faith, loved her country and her family. Rose will be dearly missed by her daughters, Arleen (Sal) Soldano of Marco Island and Sherry (Lee) Asher of Mt. Clemens, MI; and son, Wayne (Kate) Appelmann of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren, David (Tobi) Appelmann, Mark Appelmann, Alexandria Asher and William Asher; many nephews and a niece; and many close friends. Roses legacy of honesty, integrity and generosity lives on through all of them. The family will receive visitors on , 1st, 2 - 5 p.m. at Fuller , 4735 Tamiami Trail East. The service will start at 5:00 followed by a reception in her honor. |

Obituary: JUANITA ROSE LYNCH APPELBOOM, 91 WINTER HAVEN - Juanita Rose Lynch Appelboom, passed away 16, 2015, at the age of 91. She was born on 18, 1924. Juanita grew up in Louisville, Kentucky and was the youngest child of Henry and Helen Lynch. Juanita earned a Bachelors of Science degree and later a Masters degree in Biology at Marquette University. She then returned to Louisville to do research at Fort Knox. Juanita met and married her husband, Johannes, in 1955, and moved to Michigan. The family later moved to Winter Haven, Florida. There she was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and was very active in her church and community activities, including working in St. Joseph's school's lunch room, she was a cub scout den mother, volunteered on her children's swim team, and served in the local girl scout troop. Later in life she returned to the workplace, running the lab at Polk General Hospital for the next five years. retiring, she continued to serve her church community as a minister to the sick until age 82. Juanita was an avid traveler and traveled the United States and Canada with her family on vacations. retirement she and her husband traveled extensively in Europe and North America for several years. She is survived by her husband, Johannes; and five children, John, Tina, Dirk, Tim, and Letty. services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on , 5, 2015, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in the chapel. Interment will follow at Lakeside . The family has requested that no flowers be sent. |
