Obituary: In the Island of Jamaica, on 19th, 1920, a beautiful baby girl was born to Janie and Charles Holness, of Litiz in the parish of Manchester. This baby girl began her life as Violet Agatha Holness, the seventh of nine children of Janie and Charles Holness. Violet (known as Gathie, or Faye to most people, attended Litiz Elementary School and later Trade School where she learned all the skills necessary to become a seamstress. She mastered it well and made a living sewing for other people. While doing so, Faye got married and had a daughter; Gloria and later a son were born, Maurice (now deceased). Faye decided to venture out and she secured a job as a Field Manger for the Singer Sewing Machine in Kingston, Jamaica. many years, her daughter being grown, she decided to send Gloria to England in 1960 to start a new life. Faye followed in 1961 to do the same. Work was important to her and she was hired by an exclusive shop The Mayfair Dress Shop, in London, England. There she acquired some special skills especially in using the needle for putting in zippers, hems and finishing touches. Faye excelled at her craft and soon was sewing for the Ladys of London such as; Lady Spencer, Amelda Marcus and others. Fayes social life blossomed as she met and married her beloved husband Nicholas Anderson (now deceased). enjoyed life in England, but decided to migrate to Brooklyn, New York; USA. Soon they built a home in Palm Coast and moved down in 1985, they became an active part of the Community. He was a landscaper and had a landscaping business and she continued has dress making work. Faye was a spiritual person. Her belief in God and His Son Jesus Christ was part of her daily life. She joined The First Baptist Church of Palm Coast in 1985 and became a faithful and active member. Participating in the Hospitality and Women for Mission Committees and she also volunteered at Florida Hospital Flagler. She believed that Soup was a healing agent to the sick and needy. So, every week pots of homemade soup were taken to them. Faye was a passionate, caring person who never ceased praising God for her life and the many blessings over her 96 ½ years of living. She was fortunate to travel to; England, Europe, The Panama Canal, and the West Indies. But, her most memorial travel was to Jerusalem, which enabled her to visit many of the places from the Biblical stories in the Bible. Another great accomplishment was her trip on the Old Queen Mary cruise ship. Upon her death Faye is survived by her Sister, Birdie; Daughter, Gloria Fray; many grandchildren, (some of whom are here today); Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, Extended Family and Loving Church Family and Friends. During her illness when asked How Are You Doing Today? Faye would answer, The Eyes Are Open. Well, her eyes are closed now and as we say goodbye to Violet Agatha Holness Anderson; she would like us to think of her lifes journey in the words of Beverly J. Andersons poem, listed in the Salesman Mission Publications. |

Obituary: Violet B. Anderson, 89, passed away peacefully 10, 2015 in Jacksonville. She was a dedicated and faithful military wife who was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Anderson. She is survived by her son, David Anderson (Michelle) of Jacksonville, FL; sister, Florence Cavanaugh (James) of Middleburg, FL; grandchildren, Krystina Anderson, Stacey Wilder, Karl Anderson, and Samantha Amaral all of Jacksonville, FL; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M. , 14th at HARDAGE-GIDDENS FUNERAL HOME, 1701 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville Beach, FL. A celebration of Violets life will be held 2 p.m. , 15th at the funeral home with Chaplain David Holladay officiating. She will join her husband at rest in Arlington National at a later date. Obituary: Violet Irene Anderson, 84 of Niceville, Florida, peacefully passed away May 6, 2015, and now joins her eternal companion and other family members to live with our Heavenly Father. Violet was born 6, 1930 in New Brunswick, New Jersey, the daughter of Irene Bakos Lorincz and Joseph Lorincz (Lawrence). She joined the Navy and moved to Pensacola, Florida. During her time there she met her husband, George Harold Anderson. were married 26, 1952 in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Their family lived in many places including San Francisco Bay area where Violet lived for 45 years, until she moved to Niceville in 2008. Violet was preceded in death by her beloved husband, George, and her brother, Joseph Lorincz. She is survived by her three sons, Joseph (Deborah) Anderson of Niceville, Florida, Robert (Sharon) Anderson of Raleigh North Carolina, and Thomas (Linda) of Rock Springs Wyoming and 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings Joan, Barbara, Margaret, Walter, Steve, a sister-in-law, Beth Anderson, and brother-in-law, Gary Ashby. Violet was a loving and caring sister, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved Jesus Christ and loved serving as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She held many church callings, but she most enjoyed being temple worker at the Oakland California LDS Temple for thirteen years. services will be held at 11 a.m. on , May 9, 2015 at the Niceville Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 1100 S. Palm Blvd, Niceville.
