Obituary: Mary Ann Ade passed away peacefully in her home on 18, 2015 after a twelve year battle with lung cancer. Born in 1932 in Tampa, Florida to William W. and Margaret Jewell Vaughan, she attended the University of Florida where she met her husband and graduated with Bachelors and Masters degrees in elementary education. teaching school in Gainesville and Jacksonville for several years, Mary Ann devoted the rest of her life to serving her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, being a loving wife, mother and grandmother to her husband, three children and six grandchildren. She was a counselor and prayer warrior who would faithfully pray about any problem for anyone who was anxious, sick or burdened. Mary Ann enjoyed flowers, nature, cooking and entertaining. Hers was a splendid life well lived with the many roles that the Lord graciously entrusted to her. Mary Ann was preceded in death by her father, William W. Vaughan, her mother Margaret Jewell Vaughan, and her brother, William W. Vaughan. She is survived by her husband, James L. Ade, her daughter, Leanne Caldwell (Andy), her son, W. Theodore Ade (Temple) and her daughter, Elizabeth Ade. She is also survived by her six grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth Caldwell, Andrew James Caldwell, William Jesse Caldwell, Saralyn Caldwell, Olivia Anne Ade and Walker Lee Ade. A private internment service will be held at Oaklawn at 11:00 A.M. on 29, 2015. A memorial service for Mary Ann will be held at Christ Church Jacksonville, Anglican, 9917 103rd Street, Jacksonville, Florida 32210 at 2:00 P.M. on 29, 2015, Fr. Mark Eldredge presiding. The family will receive friends immediately following the memorial service at the church. Obituary: Florette Mary Brouillard Choiniere Addy, Mom, was born in St. David, Quebec, Canada on 25, 1923. She passed away at home on 11, 2015 surrounded by her family. Her funeral will be held 18 9:00 AM at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Stuart, where she had attended for several months. Burial will be at Hillcrest in Vero Beach. Florette moved to Vermont with her older brother, Leo, and parents Rose Anne and Edonard when she was 7 years old. bought a dairy farm and she and her brother started school speaking no English. were not allowed to speak English at home since their parents didn understand it. 8th grade her teacher asked her parents to allow her to go to high school, but they didn . She had to drop out and help the family. At 15 she went to work in a factory and her paycheck went to her parents. At home she helped with the six younger kids. Her parents moved to New Haven, CT for better opportunities while she and her older brother Leo stayed behind to run the farm and raise their siblings. In 1941 she met Victor Choiniere through her brother . enjoyed barn dances and drives in his fathers car. One drive to Canada caused a lot of problems. There was no problem crossing into Canada but upon the groups return to the US my mother was the only Canadian citizen in the car. She was detained at the border and had to call her father to come pick her up. She married Victor 7, 1942 at St. Therese Church in Orleans, VT. Her brother Leo was best man and Victors cousin Gisele was maid of Honor. She soon proudly became a US citizen. moved to the farm across the street from her parents farm. It was a very hard life. both took jobs to make ends meet at the farm, she in a laundry and he doing road work. On a visit to New Haven they made friends with Vern and Maude Marcott. were on their way to Miami Beach and the post war construction boom. Mom and Dad went home, sold everything and bought an Airstream trailer. In 1948 they pulled their trailer from northern VT to Miami Beach on two lane US 1. There was a lot of work and they enjoyed the beach with their friends. a while the two couples missed their families and had a new plan. In 1950 they returned to CT to start a business together. bought a house and store in Stony Creek and opened a paint store called Choiniere and Marcott. Mom kept the books and often ran the store when the guys were working construction jobs. Paulette came along in 1954 and Suzanne in 1956. Mom was home with us or at the store two doors away. In the summer we walked ten minutes to the beach every day. Mom and I reminisced about those beach days, she asked if I remember the stroller -and yes, I do. She never learned to swim but she made sure we did and we took lessons in Long Island Sound. We had an idyllic childhood in Stony Creek, and Mom told me she never wanted to leave there. But in 1964 Dad decided to move the family to Wallingford and the opportunity of a larger paint store. As kids we didn know Mom was not in favor of the move. While in Wallingford Mom went to work nights at Pratt and Whitney. We had TV dinners for the first time. It was not a time that Mom enjoyed and it didn last long. In 1970 Dad again decided on a move-a big one to Florida. He had never gotten the sand out of his shoes and they both knew the only way their daughters would move to Florida was to move while we were still in high school. We moved to Stuart and Mom got a job at Grand Union grocery store. She worked there ten years in order to secure a retirement. Mom and Dad still liked to travel and visited family in the northeast often. Dad died in 1991 at the age of 70, Mom was 68. She was very lonely having gone from her large family to her husbands home. In 1996 she married Jack Addy. had known each other for some years. She and Jack did a lot of travelling in their early marriage. went all over the country, visiting her brother in Arizona and her birthplace in Canada. saw Niagara Falls and the Grand Canyon. also travelled to Jacks birthplace in England and visited Paris and London. Jack died 2014. At that time we realized Mom could no longer live alone, nor did she want to be alone. Her health began to deteriorate. Jacks funeral Joy bravely volunteered to move in with her grandma. She gave up her job and she and husband Jeff moved into the spare bedroom in 2014. This allowed Mom quality of life as they entertained and cared for her as no stranger would. a few falls in May, and a hospitalization, her health deteriorated quickly. She passed into Jesuss arms 11, 2015. As she slept in her bed, in her home, she quietly slipped away. Joy dressed her in the dress she wore for her wedding to Jack and to her four grandchildrens weddings. She fixed her hair and makeup. Mom looked lovely for her trip to heaven. She is predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Victor Choiniere, and husband of 17 years, Jack Addy. She is also predeceased by her brothers Leo and Al Brouillard, and brother in law Tony Guido. She is survived by her daughters Paulette (Jim) Beurrier and Suzanne (John) Smith; grandchildren Timothy (Nearra) Beurrier, Joy (Jeff) Banks, Katie (Austin) Weiss, and Faith Beurrier, all of Stuart, and Joshua (Jenna) Smith continued... |
