Obituary: age 86, a lifelong Tampa resident passed away , 27, 2016. Bob attended the University of Florida and graduated from Florida State University where he was a member of the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. college, he served as Cadre in the United States Army 101st Airborne Infantry Training Regime and in the Military Police during the Korean Conflict. the military, he became Vice President of the Tampa Federal Savings and Loan Association. A few years later he would move to Lakeland to become President and Chairman of the Lakeland Federal Savings and Loan Association. returning to Tampa, he continued to work in the banking and mortgage banking business. Bob was also involved in community and religious organizations. He was Chairman of the Polk Heart Fund; a director of the Children’s , Inc.; Vice Chairman of the Family Services Association of Tampa; and a member of the Board of Fellows for the University of Tampa. He was also past president of the Exchange Club of Tampa; past secretary, director and an Emeritus member of the Merrymakers Club; president of the Tampa Council of the Navy League; a 50-year member of Ye Mystic Krewe of Gasparilla; a member of the Tampa Yacht and Club; the Hillsborough Lodge F&AM; the Scottish Rite; and the Egypt Temple Shrine. He was a former member of the Lone Palm Golf Club, the Lakeland Yacht & Country Club and the University Club. Bob was a member of Hyde Park United Methodist Church where he was a Lay Leader, a Trustee and sang in the choir. He also attended Palma Ceia Presbyterian Church where he sang in the choir. More important to Bob than his business and civic pursuits was his love of others. He enjoyed meeting and being with people. His quick wit and warm smile earned him the nickname “Friendly Bob”. He was predeceased by his wife, Sara Adams, his brother, Albert L. Adams, Jr. and his sister, Vivian Adams Walls and is survived by his daughter, Suzanne Ennis (Hank) and his granddaughters, Sara Katherine and Margo Ennis in addition to several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on , May 5, 2016 at Hyde Park United Methodist Church, 500 W. Platt Street, Tampa, with the Rev. Vicki Walker officiating. A private family interment was held at Myrtle Hill on , May 1, 2016. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Hyde Park United Methodist Church, Palma Ceia Presbyterian Church or a charity of your choice. |

Obituary: On , 6, 2016, Reidun A. Adams passed away peacefully at Diamond Ridge & Rehabilitation in Lecanto, Fl. after battling lung cancer. Reidun was born on , 21, 1935 in Oslo, Norway. She met Fred D. Adams, who was in the U.S. Air Force. married in 1953 and moved to Chicago, Illinois in 1955. She moved to Florida in 1987. Her profession was accounting manager, but she was best known for always helping someone in need and had a very big heart. She was a loving wife and mother of 5 children. Reidun was preceded in death by her husband, Fred D. Adams and 2 of her sons, James E. Adams and Timothy J. Adams. Reidun is survived by her daughter, Kathleen R .Bryant; two sons, Michael T. Adams, Terrance M. Adams; 4 grandchildren, Cheri L. Banks, Michael T. Adams, Timothy J. Adams, Jason T. Adams and four great grandchildren. Heartfelt thanks is given to Cheri L. Banks, first grandchild and Jaime De La Peza, Cheri's husband, for having been there for her in the last three years of her life, giving love, support and care.
