Obituary: The Reverend Gabriel Elijah Abdullah, peacefully and with joy, left to be with his Lord on 29, 2014. Born 5, 1915, Rev. Abdullah spent his entire life sharing the Gospel of Christ through preaching, personal evangelism and charitable endeavors. Born to immigrant parents, he graduated from the University of Florida and then received his Masters of Theology from Columbia Theological Seminary. He also completed advanced graduate studies at Princeton Theological Seminary. He served churches in Goodwater, AL as well as Westminster Presbyterian and Mount Olive Presbyterian in Jacksonville. His focus on the salvation of those around him was paramount to his very existence. His emphasis on including Bible reading and prayer were a driving force in his efforts with the courts to allow these endeavors back in our public schools. He was preceded in death by a brother, Johnny, and three sisters, Julia, Bedier Karam, and Dorothy Hidalgo. He is survived by one sister, Margaret Soud and numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom believe they were his favorite. Our thanks to the excellent care he was given the last year of his life at Heartland of Orange Park. The family will receive friends from five until seven oclock in the evening on , 1, 2014 at THE OAKLAWN CHAPEL (inside Oaklawn ). services will be held at ten oclock in the morning on , 2, 2014 at Evergreen . Obituary: Victor Abdo, 54, of Port Orange passed away , 13, 2010. A life long resident of Daytona Beach, Victor was the son of the late Diana and Lafy Abdo. He graduated from Mainland High School class of 1973 and for many years managed local restaurants. Victors family was always number one. An outdoors man he enjoyed fishing, boating, camping and traveling to the mountains of the Carolinas. He always appreciated good food, good music and loved time spent with his daughter and grandchildren. Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Regina Abdo of Port Orange; grandchildren, Zachariah and Lindsay Bennett; sisters, Diana (Gary) Kimmell and Victoria Abdo; and his precious dog, Rosie. Beside his parents, he is predeceased by his brother, Terry. In lieu of flowers the family kindly asks that for memorial contribution information, please contact the funeral home.
