Obituary: Sharon Asti-Caranci, born 8, 1955, in Boulder, Colorado, died 1, 2014. She is survived by her husband Gary Moschetti, her son Christian Caranci, (Nicole) and their daughters Natalie and Lily. Also by her father Ted Asti, sister Marianne Chavez, (Mark), their children Caitlin and Gabriel, brother Gary Asti (Marilyn), his children Anthony, Chad, and Tina, and brother Mark Asti and extended family. She was preceded in death by her mother Margaret Asti. Sharon began working for the City of Louisville as a young woman answering the phone. Through hard work and because of her tremendous skills she eventually became finance director there. She kept that job for twenty years. She served as acting city administrator on several occasions. She was amazing with figures and accounting, and organization of all sorts. She won the friendship and admiration of her peers, and of a great many people in Louisville. Her budgeting and accounting skills won her numerous awards. Sharon was thoroughly devoted to her family and friends. She did so many things for so many people. Her generosity was immense, as was her energy and industriousness. She was the picture of selflessness, never asking for anything in return. She took an active role in the lives of her nieces and nephews, and her greatest enjoyment came from her involvement in the lives of her two granddaughters. Sharon adored her grandchildren and was a part of their daily lives. Sharon was interested in and passionate about many things. Two years ago, she and her brother Mark started their company, Ghena's Bucking Bulls, which was named after their family's hometown of Comprahaghena, Italy. named their bull Papa Louie, in honor of their grandfather Louis. In 2013 Papa Louie competed at the World Finals in Las Vegas and won the top prize in the Back Seat Buckers Program. Sharon's hard work and study of her new interest earned her many new and very special friends. Turns out she was as comfortable in cowboy boots as she was in high heels. She liked her pickup as well as her Porsche; maybe better. Sharon also shared her husband's passion for old Porsches. Both are long-time members of the Rocky Mountain 356 Porsche club. She served as club treasurer for a great many years and just like everyone else in her life, the Club membership relied on her to make sure everything was done properly. Many of her fellow enthusiasts became lifelong friends. She was pretty good on a racetrack, too. She loved nature and being outdoors. This love of nature came from her mother, who taught her not only the best way to make biscuits, but also how to spot deer. Every year she went elk hunting with her brother, Mark, and her son, Chris. Trips to Walden and Estes Park to see wild moose and elk with Gary were yearly delights. She recently took up skeet shooting and suggested that Santa might bring her a new shotgun for Christmas. Sharon loved gardening, especially flowers. Her yard was always tidy and colorful, and she worked hard outside; she enjoyed it. In fact, she was happily working in the yard when her heart gave out. You didn't have to look hard to see why Sharon was so successful. She was good at everything she put her mind to, but it didn't just happen and it didn't come easily. She worked at everything she did and she earned everything she had. Organized, thorough, considerate, kind and industrious to a fault, she was above all, utterly selfless. Her greatest joy was simply making her family and friends happy. Services will begin on evening, 9, 2014 with visitation at Crist Mortuary, 3395 Penrose Place, Boulder, CO from 4-8 p.m. The funeral will be at Flatirons Community Church at 10 a.m. , 10, 2014. The church address is 355 West South Boulder Road, Lafayette, CO. Maps to the rest of the day's activities will be provided at the church. Directly after the service, internment will be at the Sacred Heart , 6739 South Boulder Road between Cherryvale Road and 76th Street. Reception to follow. |
