Obituary: Gene Annis, 87, passed away , 13th, in Colorado Springs. He was born on May 25, 1929 in Abilene Kansas, the son of D.R. and Helen Annis. He graduated from Abilene High School in 1948. He moved to Colorado Springs in 1953, and remained there until his death. He loved the mountains, and his favorite activity was big game hunting. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Marie Michaels; two brothers, Carl Annis and Wayne Annis; a grandson, Derek Swarts; and a step-son, Ed Hearne. He is survived by one brother, Dean Annis of Abilene, Kansas; wife, Bea Hearne of Colorado Springs; two daughters, Dianne (Scott) Carnahan of Colorado Springs and Cindy Swarts of Abilene, Kansas; a son Steve (Tess) Annis of Lakewood, Colorado; three grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one step-daughter; four step-grandchildren; and 16 step-great-grandchildren. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, memorials in his name be made to Pikes Peak Hospice, 2550 Tenderfoot Hill St., Colorado Springs, CO 80906. A Celebration of Life will be on , 23, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Lamp Lighter Mobile Park Community Room. 3280 S. Academy Blvd. under the direction of Advantage & Cremation Service, Colorado Springs, CO. |

Obituary: Esther P Weimer Annett passed away May 15, 2015. She was born May 21, 1927 in Wiley, CO. She was number 11 of 12 children born to Mary C (Schmidt) Weimer and Henry D Weimer of Wiley. She graduated from Lamar Union High School in 1946, where she was a member of the National Honor Society. In 1947, she married William H Annett of Greeley, Colorado. In 1957, she and the family moved to Pueblo where she resided until 2011. At that time she moved to Lakewood, Colorado to be closer to two of her children. Esther became an LPN in 1968 and worked at St. Mary Corwin Hospital for 5 ½ years, then she worked for Dr. F.W. Barrows to start the Southern Colorado Family Medicine Program in 1975. She retired from the program in 1989. Her husband preceded her in death in 2008 as did her parents and two grandchildren, Scott Annett in 2000 and Christy Annett in 2009 as well as 5 brothers and 6 sisters. She is survived by her children Darryl and Cheryl Annett of Lakewood, CO., Dick and Cindy Annett of Littleton, CO and Mark and Diane Annett of Scottsdale, AZ., special nephew and wife, Gary and Verna Hainer of Pueblo, many other nephews and nieces, 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She and her husband volunteered in the soup kitchen in Pueblo for 12 years. She has volunteered for the St. Mary Corwin Hospital cancer center from 1998 to 2011. She has crocheted hundreds of lap robes for the cancer ward at the hospital. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pueblo for over 54 years, was a deaconess emeritus and active in the Christian Challengers class. She adopted many shut-ins and enjoyed visiting and praying with them. Her devotion was to the sick. At Lakeview Senior Living , she volunteered her time and was able to use her nursing skills. Donations are suggested for the City of Hope, Attn: Central Processing, PO Box 60409, Los Angeles, CA 90060-0409 in memory of Christy Annett or to the Epilepsy Foundation, 234 Columbine St., Suite 333, Denver, CO 80206 in memory of Scott Annett.
