Obituary: Don Enriquez Arteaga, 96, passed from this world on 21, 2015. Don was born in Chihuahua, Mexico on 6, 1918. Don resided in Phoenix when he joined the Army and fought in the World War II Central Europe region. From 1943 to 1946 he was assigned to the Armored Medical Battalion. In Paris, France on 2, 1945 he obtained his U.S. citizenship. At stateside in 1946 he joined the U.S. Air Force and while assigned to Castle Air Force Base he married Mildred Elizabeth Alloway. Extremely happy with Mildred, they raised six children and were stationed at seven air bases in the U.S. and twice in Europe, which gave them the opportunity to travel many countries in Europe. raising six children and retiring from the Air Force as a Master Sergeant on 31, 1973, they settled in Vacaville, California. In 1982 they moved to Glendale, Arizona. Don is preceded in death by his wife Mildred, his daughter Esther Emett, his stepsons Wade, Clyde, and Clark Alloway, his parents Jose and Maria Arteaga, and his four brothers, Jesus, Merced, Gabriel, and Ignacio. Surviving him are his sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Linda, Edward and Ann, his son-in-law Evan Emett, and 21 grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers Laurence and Freddy and sisters Carmen Martinez and Mary Pérez. Visitation will be on , 28, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Chapel of the Chimes Mortuary, 7924 North 59th Avenue, Glendale, AZ. services will be held at the Chapel on , 29, 2015, at 9:30 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Instead Senior Foundation, 13323 California Street, Omaha, NE, 68154. |

Obituary: Ramon A. Arroyos passed away in Phoenix on 2, 2011. Ramon was born in Nuevo Casas Grandes, Chihuahua in Mexico on 23, 1933. Ramon has been working since the tender age of 13. Ramon came to Phoenix in 1974 and worked for La Canasta for many years. This is where he met his wife, Maria Salazar. were married for 25 years. He then worked for Manuels and Garcias Mexican restaurants for numerous years. He was a loving brother and a wonderful uncle. He is preceded in death by his mother, his wife, 3 sisters, and 1 brother. He is survived by his sister Maria (Tommy), who lovingly dedicated herself to his needs and care for so many years. He is also survived by his sister Gloria (Florencio), his brother Armando (Rosa), and by many nieces and nephews. He will be missed. A visitation service will be held on , 5 between 5 and 8 pm at Greenwood Memory Lawn Serenity Chapel, 2300 W. Van Buren St. in Phx, AZ. A mass service will be held at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 2038 W. Van Buren St. on , 6 at noon. Graveside services will follow at Greenwood Memory Lawn , 2300 W. Van Buren St. The family would love to thank Glendale and Hospice of the Valley for the wonderful care of our beloved Ramon. |
