Obituary: Daniel (Dan) Roger Archie, age 75, of Redmond, Washington passed away peacefully with family by his side, on , 21, 2011 at Overlake Medical . Dan was born on Nov 6, 1935, in Watertown, Wisconsin, the son of Alma and Robert Archie. He grew up in Watertown and upon graduating high school, enrolled in the University of Wisconsin - Madison and graduated in 1958 with a Bachelor of Science degree in business. On Dec 27, 1958, Dan was united in marriage to Doris Irene Skaar in Cottage Grove, Wisconsin. She preceded him in death on . 21, 2006. Dan and Doris moved to LaGrange, Illinois where he started working with the Carson Pirie Scott company as a salesman. In 1963 he moved to Madison, Wisconsin to work for the Mitchell selling duplicating machines and then in 1974 for AB Dick, selling printers and photocopy machines. It was with A.B. Dick that he won many sales achievements and pacemaker awards. He finished out his career in 2006 with Insty-Prints in Madison, Wisconsin. Dan also served in the Wisconsin Air National Guard in data processing from 1959 to 1965. He was involved in the Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity while attending the University of Wisconsin and also was a member of the Rotary International. Dan enjoyed travel, cooking, dining out, football, and music (especially Big Band Music). He will be remembered as funny, and always quick with a joke. He lived a full life. Dan is survived by his children, Daniel (Stacy) Archie (Jr) of Walton, Kentucky (Cincinnati area) and Sarah (Art) Smith of Redmond, Washington. He is also survived by four grandchildren Alex and Austin Smith; Nicholas and Jack Archie, and other family and friends. In addition to his wife, Doris and his parents, Dan was preceded in death by a brother, Robert (Carol) Archie. The final arrangements are being handled by the Sunset Hills , Bellevue Washington. An open house clebrating Dans life will be held at the Fairwinds of Redmond Retirement Facility, 9988 Avondale Rd NE in Redmond on , 29 from 1-3 pm. A Celebration of his Life will take place later in in Wisconsin.
