Obituary: Bill was born in Glasgow, Scotland to Thomas and Janet Anderson. He often told stories of spending summer vacations with his parents and sister Jeanette in Dunoon and Rothesay, Scotland. Soon he joined the Royal Air Force and served for three years. During this time he had the opportunity to discover his life long passion for road bike cycling and this passion was fueled during these years. He went on to compete specializing in the 25 mile speed races. He started playing soccer during this time as well. With his spirit of adventure, Bill and his buddy Jake came to the United States in 1957. Little did he know that this would become his forever home. Those early years were spent playing soccer with the Spokane Spokes. He met his future wife Ingrid on the soccer field and they were married in of 1961 and recently celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary. Providing for his family was his first priority. He worked as a glazier for Spokane Glass and then started his own company, Star Glass and Paint which he owned and operated until his retirement in 1996. Bill was an adventurer. He skied many mountains from Mt. Spokane to Grand Targhee, Wyoming. He continued to log hundreds of miles on his bike and he loved the great journey he took with his wife riding through the hills of Scotland. At the age of 60 Bill decided to become a certified SCUBA diver. The warm waters of Bonaire provided the perfect dive sites for him. In later years, he loved riding to the cabin on the Pend O ielle River with only one roll of duct tape in his saddle bag for any mechanical emergencies. With his ability and expertise he took on many major projects at the cabin. He loved fishing off the dock and was always the first one in the water every morning. He was known as Billy to all his grandkids and close friends. Through them his knowledge of life experiences and remarkable stories will remain. Billy is survived by his wife, Ingrid, daughters Janelle and her husband Jim Campasino, Kristin and her husband Jeff Miller, his grandchildren, Jared, Seth, Adam, Scotty and Sara. his sister Janette and her husband Fraser Lamont, brother-in-law Harley G. Frank and niece and nephews. Important in his life were life long friends Henry and Petra van Anrooy and Alex and Cathie Butters. In lieu of flowers contributions in Bills name may be made to Hospice of Spokane or Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery, Spokane WA. A Life Celebration will be held, , 25, 2017, 1:30 at Sunset Chapel, Fairmount Memorial Park, 5200 W Wellesley, Spokane WA. |

Obituary: Bill Anderson was born in Spirit Lake, Idaho. He graduated from West Seattle High School. He joined the army in 1944, stationed in Japan.He married Elizabeth Brandt in 1950. He worked for John Oster, Sunbeam and ran his own business at C.Cutlery . had four children; Craig, Brian, Joan and Wade.His favorite past time was playing trumpet, listening to big band music and making music with his brother Ed and brother-in-law Bob.Other interests were photography, making furniture, working on the cars, driving to Reno, watching football and gathering with the neighbors.He was a long time usher at Holy Family Parish.We enjoyed many holidays at his parents, brothers and sisters houses in West Seattle.He is survived by his sister Mary Ellen Finch, his four children and eight grandchildren.He will now be at the side of his wife Betty at Riverton Crest .Peace at last,or as dad would say "lets skeedaddle". |
