Obituary: Phyllis passed away 16, 2011 in Everett, Washington due to cancer. She was born in Bovey Minnesota but grew up in Valier, Montana on her parents wheat farm with her 3 brothers and 2 sisters, riding her horse bareback several miles to the small schoolhouse she attended. She moved to Washington in the early 40s and worked at Boeing in transportation for several years, where she met her first husband Max Drozdowski. had 2 children Patty and Ron. Divorced in 1959, she raised her kids in Lynnwood, Washington while she worked for the Washington State Ferry System as a waitress; later working for Waynes Café in Lynnwood and the Holiday Inn in Everett where her smile and joyful personality made customers frequently ask to sit in her section. She was then married to Eugene Christopher from 1968 until his death in 1974 and in 1976 married Stanley Allen. She loved knitting, having guests over, baking, talking to friends on her cell phone, and watching her beloved Seattle Mariners. Her beautiful smile and generosity made her loved by many, and her sense of humor and quick wit were present until the very end. She is survived by her husband Stan; brother Don (Eva) Haynes and Jerry (Mary Ann) Haynes; daughter Patty (Jim) Kosney; son Ron Drozdowski; step-daughter Virginia (Richard) Kirby; step-son Mark (Christie) Allen and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by parents Ed and Agatha Haynes; brother Eddie Haynes; sister Winnie Lenoir and sister Marion Simpson. A celebration of Phyllis life will be held from 12:00 - 9:00 pm on , 21, 2011 at the Allen residence, 12314 38th Dr. SE in Everett, 98208. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society. |
