Obituary: Belinda T. Ayres, 65, of Spotsylvania, VA, passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by loved ones, the morning of , 13, 2017. Born in 1951, she was the daughter of Pedro Martinez and the late Naomi Caro. She attended school in Severn, Maryland, graduating from Archbishop Spalding High School in 1970, where she developed her passion for music that continued throughout her life. She was a loving wife, mother, and proud grandmother. She is survived by her devoted husband of 44 years, CDR William T. Ayres; son, Bryan Ayres; three daughters, Kimberly Wike, Melissa Kratzer, and Lauren Skeen; 8 grandchildren; and father, Pedro Martinez. A viewing for Belinda will be held at Mullins and Thompson on 20 from 6-8 PM where Eulogies of the life with Belinda will be most welcome and on 21 from 10-11 AM. A full Mass will be held for her 21 at 12 PM at St Patrick Catholic Church, 9149 Ely's Ford Road, Fredericksburg, VA, with a reception immediately following. Obituary: Adrienne Page Hinty Ayres was called home to be in the care of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, leaving her husband, Harold Ayres, after 74 years of gloriously happy married life. She is survived by her husband, Harold, and sisters-in-law Janie Lou Harman of Burlington, North Carolina, Cathryn Ayres of Roanoke, Irene Ayres of Williamsburg and Vera Ayres of Colonial Beach, Virginia. Also two sons - Ronald Page and Mark Preston, both of Williamsburg, granddaughters Jennifer Page (Ayres) Schandal of Hastings-on-Hudson, New York, and Emily Ayres Daniels of Ark, Virginia, and grandson Marshall Page Ayres of Lanexa, Virginia. Adrienne was born on 10, 1924, the only child of Albert S. Hinty and Susie P. Hinty, both having preceded her in death. She attended Lexington (Virginia) High School and Newport News High School, graduating from the latter in 1942. She was a gentle, loving and gracious mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Much can be said about her love of nature, her family, neighbors, close friends and all who knew and worked with her. Adrienne had a passionate love of flowers and loved arranging them at home and at her church. She was blessed with a God-given talent in the art of painting, using all media and subjects. She had instruction and training at Thomas Nelson as well as training under artist Barkley Sheets and local artists Violet Parker and Anna Cushnick. She loved watching the birds in her backyard and was always concerned that they had enough to eat during the winter. She loved her church, having taught School for many years with her husband at Noland Memorial Methodist Church in Newport News (She loved those beautiful teen-agers!) and assisting in the decorating of the church for special events. She was most recently a member of York River Baptist Church in Norge. Other joys in her life included first, her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed delivering meals-on-wheels to the less fortunate for over ten years. She loved her closest friends in the Alpha Chi Sorority, entertaining in each others homes for over 50 years, and close fellowship with her friends in water sports at the cottage on the Chickahominy River. The family will receive loved ones and friends at Nelsen at 3785 Strawberry Plains Road from 2:00 to 4:00 on 16, 2017. Services will be held immediately after in the chapel of Nelsen . Interment will be at Peninsula Memorial Park, Newport News, on , 17, 2017, with a service for family and close friends. Online condolences may be offered at www.nelsencares.com. |
