Obituary: Louis Victor Vic Atkins, Jr, 68, of Bowling Green died , 5, 2015. Born in Illinois, he served in the United States Army and attained the rank of Captain. Following the Army, he worked as a deputy sheriff for 11 years with the Caroline Sheriffs Office. He finished his career back at Ft. A.P. Hill in Range Control, with 18 years of total federal service. Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Pat Atkins; two sisters, Sue Leon (Victor) and Ruthie Guyer (Bill); two sisters-in-law, Mary Jo Lunoe and Susan Morgan; a brother-in-law, Tommy Ball; devoted pets, Digger and Shiney; and numerous nieces and nephews. Vic was preceded in death by his parents Louis Victor and Wilma Atkins and a sister, Patty Navarro. A memorial service will be held 11:00 A.M. , 12, 2015 at the Pavilion in Greenlawn , Bowling Green with Rev. Jared Beasley officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Caroline or a charity of your choice. |
