He was a native of Altavista, VA and a resident of Hampton for more than 52 years. a career of over 37 years, he retired as a pipefitter from the Newport News Shipyard. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and was affiliated with Cornerstone Fellowship Church of God in Foxhill. Preceding him in rest is his first wife of 51 years, Ruth Virginia Fitzgerald Arthur; son, Kenneth Wayne Arthur; parents, Lola E. Frazier and Rucker J. Arthur, Sr.; and brother, Bill O. Arthur. Surviving members of his family include his wife from his second marriage, Ann Marie Arthur of Dwitt, VA; children, Steven M. Arthur of Altavista, VA, Sandra K. Clay and husband Clark of Gloucester, VA, Cheryl L. Monfalcone and husband Steve Sr. of Hampton; step-daughter, Beth Brockwell and husband Troy; grandchildren, Steve, Jr., Anthony and Samantha Monfalcone, Kristen Gilbert, Kimberly Clay, Melinda Donaldson, Patricia and Jessica Arthur; step-grandchildren, Keiffer, Avery, and Ella Kate Brockwell; great grandchildren, Taylor, Ethan, and Mariah; sister, Shirley Lanier and husband Ralph; daughters-in-law, Pam L. She was the wife of the late Harry Andrews Sr. She is survived by her husband Delmar Lawrence Arthur Jr. Born 3, 1941 in Bedford she was the daughter of the late Howard Moses and Nellie Tolley Goff. Mrs. Arthur retired from C.V.T.C. and was a member of Thomas Road Baptist Church. In addition to her husband, Reva is survived by her children, Jeanette Witt and husband David, Sue Hensley and husband Raymond, Shelia Kauffman and late husband David, Gladys Ellis and friend Bobby, Harry Andrews Jr. and fiance Audrey; Step-children, Danny Arthur, Kevin Arthur, Dottie Arthur, Dana Austin; Sisters, Jean Maddox, Linda Clark, Sarah Whitehead, Gale Tyree; brothers, James Goff, Joseph Goff; sister-in-law, Delores Goff; 21 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Arthur is also preceded in death by sisters, Marie Whitehead, Dorothy Tweety and brother, Howard Goff. A funeral service will be held in Pate Chapel at 12:00 noon conducted by Rev. David Heerspink and Rev. Jim Moon. Interment will follow in Altavista Memorial Park.
