Obituary: Mary Ellen (Harris) Arey, 78, of Stuarts Draft passed away on , 14, 2017 at a . She was born in a on 4, 1938, a daughter of the late Charlie Luther and Elizabeth Ellen (Guffey) Harris. Mary work for McCroys Department Store and Heilig Meyers for many years. She was a member of White Hill Church of the Brethren and a former member of the Stuarts Draft Rescue Squad. Mary will be remembered for her love for her dogs, and being a loving and care mother and friend. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Charles R. Arey, Jr. Survivors include her children, Wanda Morrison and husband, David of Hanover, PA, Wilma Davis and William Arey both of Stuarts Draft; grandchildren, Chris Davis of Stuarts Draft, D.W. Morrison and Steven Morrison both of Hanover, PA; one great grandson and two great granddaughters; dear friend, Eike Davis; as well as numerous extended family and friends.Mary also leaves behind her beloved four legged friend, Pearl. Obituary: Alan Lindsay Arey, 73, passed away , 16, 2017. Born May 17, 1943 in Mt. Holly, New Jersey he was a son of the late Richard and Patricia Kane Arey. In addition to his parents Alan was predeceased by his brother Patrick. Alan attended Reed and Portland State University in Oregon before graduating from the University of Virginia Law School in 1976. He practiced law in Chatham, Virginia before moving to Charlottesville. He was an active member of The Rebelious Dogs A.A. Group and the Charlottesville Stamp Club since 2010, Monticello Coin Club, and the Shenandoah National Pilatelic Society. Members of these organizations enjoyed learning so much from Alan. Alan will be sorely missed by his brother Stephen and his wife Judy of Waynesboro; sister, Kathleen Carroll of Fredericksburg; uncle, Robert Kane, III of Pearisburg; sister-in-law, Pamela Arey of Severna Park, Md.; and his nieces and nephews, Jeremy Arey, Jeffrey Arey and his wife Reina, Amanda Arey, Anne Arey, Molly Arey, John Arey and his wife Becky, and Lindsay Parvis and her husband Matt. A funeral service will be conducted 11:00am , 21, 2017 at the Teague Chapel in Charlottesville. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00pm , 20, 2017 at the funeral home. A graveside service will be conducted 2:00pm , 22, 2017 at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Chatham. Honorary pallbearers are Alan’s close friends from A.A. and the Charlottesville Stamp Club. Obituary: Paul Arellano, 82, passed away in Norfolk on , 24, 2015. Paul was born in Lian Bantagas, Philippines to the late Pedro and Rose de los Reyes Arellano. He is also predeceased by his son, Winnie Arellano. Paul retired after 22 years of service from the US Navy and from the Civil Service after 17 years. He was a Master Mason for the Norfolk Lodge #1 for 35 years. In his spare time he loved spending time with his family crabbing at the beach and cooking. He is survived by his loving wife, Josephine "Jody"; children, Imelda Maso, Jerry Arellano, both of the Philippines, Rhonda Fortin of Branson, MO and Carla Carlson of Arvada, CO; 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. There will be a visitation from 6-8pm, night at Smith and Williams Norfolk Chapel where Masonic Rites will be conducted. A graveside service will be conducted at 11am, at Forest Lawn in Norfolk with USN military honors rendered. The family is having a gathering back at Pauls house after the graveside service.
