Obituary: Dorene Belle Channell Dodie Ankrom, age 79 years, a native of Elkins, WV and a resident of Colonial Heights, VA for the past twenty-nine years, went home to be with the Lord, , 15, 2017 at the Southside Regional Medical at Petersburg, VA. She was born , 21, 1937 at Valley Head, WV a daughter of the late Major J. Channell and Myrtle Gale Lambert Channell. She was married to Kurt Ankrom, who survives at Colonial Heights, VA. had celebrated fifty-three years of marriage. Also surviving are one daughter, Kristyn Ankrom; and a beloved granddaughter, Elizabeth, both of Colonial Heights, VA; one brother, Kenneth Neal Channell of Chesapeake, VA; two sisters, Dorothy Louise Dottie Daniels and Merry Jane Janie Darling and husband David, all of Elkins, WV; two sisters-in-law, Elaine Channell of Benton, AR, Karen Hoffman of Mars Hill, NC; nieces, Carol, Roberta, Kathi, Kennette, Debbie, Tracy, Robin, and Lyn; nephews, Kermit, David, Timothy, and Brent; her Lambert cousins, Charles Chip, Dale, Sherri, Beverly, Linda, and Bobby; and her best friend of over fifty years, Carolyn Waller Wright of Grafton, WV. Preceding her in death are two brothers, Kemper Russell Channell and Kermit Brooks Channell; and two nephews, Jeff and Robert Jr. Daniels. She was a graduate of Elkins High School with the class of 1955. She worked for several years in the Treasurers Office for Williamsburg/James City , and had worked for the Committee on Aging in Oak Hill, WV. In 1960, she, as a piano player, along with her brother, Ken Channell, founded The Gallileans gospel quartet in Chesapeake, Virginia. She was a member of Lee Hall Baptist Church in Newport News, VA, and South Hopewell Church of God, in Hopewell, VA. A Graveside Service to honor her life will be conducted on , 20, 2017 at 1 PM at the Valley Head at Valley Head, WV. The Rev. Allen Roberson of Danville, VA will officiate and interment will follow. The Ankrom, Channell, and Lambert families would like to thank the staff at Southside Regional Medical , John Randolph Hospital, James River and New Century Hospice for the care and support they provided to her over the past few months. |

Obituary: Reginald Dean Reggie Angus, 56, of Lynchburg passed away , 10, 2016. Born in Ft. Belvoir, 21, 1959, he was the son of Henry Samuel Jack Angus of Lynchburg and the late Cornelia Lavita Cash Angus. He was formerly the vice president of Angus Mobile s and was a member of West Lynchburg Baptist Church. In addition to his father, he is survived by one brother, Steven M. Angus of Winchester; one nephew Collin Angus and two nieces, Chelsea Angus and Brittany Angus all of Winchester. A service celebrating his life will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. , 13, 2016 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with the Rev. Herbert Maynard officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service.
