Obituary: Virginia Dare Jenkins Anderson, 90, of Culpeper, VA passed away in Mountain View , Aroda, VA, May 12, 2017. Mrs. Anderson was born to Irving Jenkins and Merca Dodson Jenkins 10, 1926. Virginia was a loving wife and mother; a past School teacher, G.A. leader and sang in the choir at Bethel Baptist Church; served as a past PTA president, maker Club president and secretary, and was a "pink lady" at Culpeper Memorial Hospital. She encouraged and supported each of her children through 4-H programs and served as a past Farm Show makers Dept. president. She was a hairdresser at the Baptist for 23 years. Surviving Mrs. Anderson are her children Joan Proctor (Kyle), Ken Anderson (Edith), Sue Hughes (Jason) and Patricia Barfield (Bob); her grandchildren, John Clatterbaugh (Barbara), Tiffany Terry, Teresa Proctor, Amanda Campbell (Richard), Melanie Hart (DJ), Kendall Anderson (Dale), John Anderson (Morgan), Wesley Hughes, Andrew Hughes, David Barfield (Jamie), Brian Barfield (Amanda) and Justin Barfield (Kathryn), 10 great-grandchildren; a brother IW Jenkins of TN and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband John Jr. Anderson and her siblings Mildred Frederick, Lucretia Juliano, Carolyn Rosenkoff and William F. Jenkins. The family would like to thank the staff at Mountain View for the excellent care they provided for their mom for the past three years. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Clore-English , , May 17, 2017 at 7:00p.m. The family will receive friends , May 17, 2017 from 4:00p.m. until 6:00p.m. at the funeral home. Obituary: Viola Myrtle Anderson, age 89, went home to be with the Lord and loved ones on , 22, 2014. Her strong will to live and unwavering faith in God, and the love and prayers of her family and friends carried her through the last four months of her illness. Known for her ease in frequent conversation with even total strangers, some may be surprised to learn of her shyness. Yet, she possessed a contagious smile and an entertaining sense of humor. Throughout her life she maintained a sweet and simple demeanor that won the trust and hearts of many, who even now are being changed by her witness of constant nurturing love and faith. Her signature gift of joy, shown though her constant smiling, laughter, and joking around will never be forgotten. Survivors include three sons, Benny Anderson and wife Sandra of Glade Spring, Roger Anderson and wife Sloane of Marion, and Tim Anderson and wife Brenda of Marion; One daughter, Drema Mitchell and husband Charles of Roanoke, Va.; Seven Grandchildren; Ten Great Grandchildren with another on the way; One sister, Margaret Poe of Chilhowie; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive. services will be conducted 8 PM , 25 at Williams Chapel with Rev. Wesley Eller officiating. Graveside services will be conducted 11 AM , 26 in the Old Cleghorn . The family will receive friends 6 until 8 PM , 25 prior to the funeral service at the funeral home. The family would like to thank Dr. Mark Handy and Erin Puckett Breedlove for all the love, concern, and compassion given during this struggle. Obituary: Tommy T.J. Anderson, 81, of Thaxton, passed away , 6, 2017 at Guggenheimer . He was the husband of Carrie Mastros Anderson for sixty-one years. Born 25, 1935 in Bedford , he was the son of the late Thomas Lee and Mary Ruth Wade Anderson and was also preceded in death by two brothers, William and Roy Anderson and three sisters, Irene Anderson, Marie Creasy, and Jeannie Krantz. T.J. was a retired technician with Verizon. In addition to his wife, T.J. is survived by two sons, Mark Anderson and wife Kathleen of Cloverdale and Rick Anderson and wife Pam of Bedford ; two brothers, David Anderson of Bedford and Charles Anderson of Franklin ; one sister, Mary Ann Chaffin of Bedford; four grandchildren, Ross Anderson, Derrick Anderson, Logan Harris, and Joseph Bowman and five great grandchildren. In keeping with T.J.s wishes, no visitation or services will be held, at this time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to St. Judes Childrens Research Hospital.
