Obituary: Retired Lt. L. Clifton Buddy Allgood Bud Allgood was born on 20, 1927. the death of his best friend and beloved wife, Sue, he moved in with his son David. complications with his health, he died in his sons home on 14, 2016. He was born and raised in Lamberts Point, Norfolk and was very proud of his local roots. He was the youngest of ten brothers and sisters. He lied about his age and joined the National Guard and while in high school was drafted by the Army. Upon returning from WWII he returned to Maury High School and graduated. he joined the Norfolk Fire Department the next day he married his best friend and loving wife Sue of sixty-two years. He was always committed to his fellow fire fighters and continued to be committed even after retiring with forty-three years of service. He was the last of the Allgood Fire Fighters to retire. His fond memories of his fellow fire fighter brother/sisters were always close to his heart. You could always expect to hear loving stories about the old days of the fire department, the war or his many cherished memories. He was truly a book of knowledge. Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Lloyd C. Bucky Allgood of Tallahassee, FL, Richard F. Allgood of Norfolk, VA, David E. Allgood and wife Punkin Allgood of Chesapeake, VA; his grandchildren, Davey Allgood, Owen Alcorn, Chip Kyper, Gary Lane and wife, Rena; three great grandchildren Ofelia Lane, KayLee and Kendall Kyper. He was preceded in death by his wife Joyce Susie Allgood and grandson, Jason Allgood. A Celebration of Life will be conducted at 11:00 am , 19, 2016 at Rosewood-Kellum by Senior Police-Fire Chaplain Leroy Briggs and Norfolk Fire Chief Jeffery F. Wise officiating. Burial with follow at Rosewood Memorial Park. Norfolk Fire-Rescue Honor Guard will serve as pallbearers and conduct full honors. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on evening from 6-8:00 pm. If you would like to contact his family please call his son, David at (757) 436-4510. Obituary: Joyce L. Sue Allgood Sue Allgood 79. Our beloved left this world and entered the Kingdom of Heaven on 26, 2011. She was born Dec. 31, 1931 and raised in Norfolk, VA. She retired from Sears and continued to spend time with her fellow retirees. She was devoted to her family, friends and her volunteer service and continuous support for her Norfolk Fire Family. She enjoyed playing cards with her bridge friends and her passion in life was cooking for family and friends. Sues spirit and impressions lives on in each one of us who was blessed to know her. Left to cherish her memory is her husband and best friend of 62 years Lloyd Bud Allgood; sons Lloyd C. Bucky Allgood of Tallahasse, Fla., Richard F. Allgood of Norfolk, David E. and his wife Punkin Allgood of Chesapeake, Va. Seven grandchildren; Owen Alcorn, Melissa Eastman, Tamela White, Michael David Shable, Chip and his wife Christal Kyper, Gary Lane and Davey Allgood. Three great grandchildren; Lev Eastman, KayLee and Kendall Kyper. She was preceded in death by her cherished grandson Jason Allgood Her family would like to give special thanks to Kathy and Bobby Walker for their love and devotion. A funeral will be conducted at 2:00 pm , 31, 2011 at Rosewood Kellum by The Rev. Dr. Leroy Briggs, Senior Police Chaplain and Jeffrey F. Wise, Norfolk Fire Chief. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, evening from 6-8:00 pm. Obituary: Barbara Sheffield Alley-Cyfers, 80, peacefully took Gods hand on , 3, 2015. Always believing in Gods promise, she was reunited with her loved ones who preceded her in death, especially her son, Joey B. Alley, Jr. Barbara leaves to cherish her memory, her daughters Lori Emery (Tonie), and Barbara (BJ) Peace, her granddaughters Wendy Mallory (Ryan), Kristen Bennett (Andrew), Nicole and Erin Grace Peace, and her great-granddaughters Madison and Reece Mallory. Barbara is also survived by her sister Mildred Seslar and her brother Jimmy Sheffield. Barbara enjoyed the love and time spent with her many nieces and nephews. She is a life-long resident of Highland Springs. Barbara owned her own business; Alleys Maintenance Sales and Services and was a member of the Business Womens Association. Barbara will be remembered as a wonderful and loving mom, grandma, sister, aunt and friend to all. Special thanks to her caregivers Bertha Washington and Carrie Washington and to Rev. David Keill. A visitation will be held on from 2- 8 p.m. at Nelsen , 4650 S. Laburnum Ave. Richmond, where services will be held at 12 noon. Interment will follow at Washington Memorial Park, Sandston, Va. |
