Obituary: Edna M. Allen, 95, of Williamsburg, Virginia went home to the Lord peacefully on 3, 2015 with her daughters Christine and Lorraine present. She was born 19, 1920 in England and had moved with her husband of 58 years, Kenneth, over 30 times between England, Canada and the US before settling on Cape Cod. moved to Williamsburg in 1997 to be close to their three grandchildren Brian, Kimberly and Andrew. Edna served in the British Army and was a Civil Telephone Engineer in England before becoming a full time homemaker, caring for her daughters and parents. She enjoyed painting, reading, watching the birds and deer out her window, spending time with family, enjoying pet schnauzers, and shopping. In the past she volunteered with the local ballet society, Girl Scouts, and nursing homes. A Memorial Tribute Service will be given by her daughters Christine and Lorraine at 6:30pm on , 27th at 4721 Captain John Smith Road, Williamsburg. Obituary: Dorothy Jackson Allen was born May 5, 1929 in Richmond, VA. She heard the voice of Jesus say, Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. She answered His call on , 29, 2017. She was preceded in death, by her Parents, Ernest F. and Dorothy M. Jackson, brother, Ernest Jackson, Jr., niece, Deborah J. Dumas, and nephew, Ernest Jackson, II. Dorothy graduated from Armstrong High School. She furthered her education and graduated from Saint Phillips School of , and received her Bachelors of Science at Virginia Union University. She retired from MCV, as the Operating Room Supervisor. At an early age, she was baptized at Moore Street Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and served on the Usher Board. She remained a faithful member until death. She later joined the Saint Pauls Baptist Church as a Watch member, and was a member of the Refiners. Dorothy was a member of following organizations: Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Chi Eta Phi Professional Sorority, Inc., Charmettes, Inc., Continentals Society, Inc., the Red Haters, and the Jolly Pail Pinochle Club. Dottie Mae as she was called enjoyed life. She loved to travel. One of her favorite places to go, was the Casino. She leaves cherish her memories, a devoted nephew, Cecil Darnell Dumas, great nephew, Cecil Dee Dumas, other relatives and friends, among them devoted Beulah Bruce and Caron Nita Dumas. Sometimes its hard to understand why some things have to be; But in his wisdom, God planned beyond our power to see. God watched you as you suffered. He saw you had your share. He gently closed your eyes and took you in his care. |

Obituary: Doris Marie Allen, 86 of Waynesboro passed away , 18, 2015 at a . She was born in Ithica, New York on 16, 1928, a daughter of the late Marvel and Fred Raymond. Doris was a homemaker for most of her life taking care of her family. She enjoyed being active in life by going on walks with her dogs and hiking. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Sayre, PA. Doris was a kind and sweet person. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Harold J. Martin; a brother, Kenneth Allen; two sisters, Charlotte Nichols and Betty Raymond. She is survived by her son, Richard Martin and his wife, Carole Innocent-Martin; grandsons, David Martin and his wife, Shelly and Craig Martin and his wife, Dorothy; great grandchildren, Kaleb Martin, Kyleen Martin, Debbie Martin, Dory Martin, and Cory Martin; nephew, Hollis Raymond; nieces, Kathy Barnes and Peggy Raymond; Mother of her grandchildren, Marjorie Guthrie; as well as many other family members. A memorial service will be conducted at 3:30 p.m., , 20, 2015 at Seventh Day Adventist Church, 1000 North Coalter Street, Staunton, VA with Pastor Daniel Darrikhuma and Pastor Harry Britt officiating. The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to the nurses and staff at Envoy of Staunton.
