Obituary: On the beautiful early afternoon of 29, 2008 the sweet loving spirit of Keith Lester Anderson left his mortal body and returned to His Heavenly Father. He was surrounded by his personal family as well as his sisters and their spouses when he left this earth. We know that he was greeted by his deceased 2 year old daughter, his mother, father, and brother. We know a wonderful reunion had taken place at this time. Keith was born 29, 1937 the 3rd of five children to Lester Hyrum Anderson and Madeline Losser Anderson. He was a very small baby, but had a big and loving heart. He graduated from Provo High School with the class of O55. He also attended Brigham Young University for 2 years. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he held the office of a High Priest. He also earned his Eagle Scout award from Scout Troop 41 of the Provo 2nd Ward. He and his wife were recently called to teach the Marriage and Family Relations class in the Bonneville 2nd Ward and Keith really enjoyed teaching the young married people in that class. He joined the U.S. Air Force in of 1957 where he served for three and a half years. He also worked for the U.S. Post Office for 2 years then went in to the business of laying carpet with his brother-in-law Gary Pyne, and finally went self-employed in floor coverings mainly installing carpet for 40 years, during which time he enjoyed his close working relationships with various floor covering stores throughout Utah Valley. He also worked as a Security Officer for Star Valley Ranch in Thayne Wyoming for 6 years, returning to the Provo area in 2005 where he was retired. He met his wife Merta Rae Sorensen in the summer of 1955 and they dated 3 years when she finally tied him down and they were married in the Salt Lake Temple, May 20, 1958. would have celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary on the 20th of May and were looking forward to a grand celebration with their family and friends. He enjoyed golfing with many good friends multiple times a week with great enthusiasm and was looking forward to a great summer of golf. He loved BYU sports especially Football and Basketball. He also loved playing card games and other games with his children and grandchildren, letting them beat him until they became better than him and then he had to try hard to beat them. He also loved to play the card game of hand & foot with his family, and you can be sure that every time they were together there was a game in store, with much laughter and teasing from him. He is survived by his wife Merta Rae Sorensen Anderson, and had four wonderful children, a son Brian K (Rebecca) Anderson of Mansfield, TX, daughters Raylene (David) Huntsman of Orem, Utah, Brenda Kaye (Steve) Leftwich of Colorado Springs, CO. He also had a daughter Kathy Lynne Anderson 2 years old, that greeted him when his spirit left his mortal body. He has 3 living wonderful and loving sisters Veva (Dell T) Harmon of Midvale, Utah, La Faye (Gary O) Pyne of Provo, Utah and Sue (Peiter) Remkes of Elk Ridge, Utah. He also has many Brother-in-Laws, Sister-in-Laws, many nieces, nephews, and cousins that also loved him dearly. He had 17 grandchildren, and one great-grandson that he loved to be with and play golf, and games of all sorts, as well as tease. Two of his Grandsons are serving missions for the church. One is expected home in 4 weeks and the other in 8 weeks. He so looked forward to the e-mails that he received each week and if they didn come he would get frustrated. The e-mails strengthened his already strong testimony of his Savior Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father. He was preceded in death by his daughter Kathy Lynne, a younger brother Gary Lee and his parents. We want to thank the Staff, Doctors, Nurses, Technicians of every kind at Utah Valley Regional , for the tender loving care and concern that they gave my Husband and our father, as well as us, while he was in their care. services will be held at Walker Mortuary, 85 E. 300 S., Provo, UT at 1:00 p.m. on , May 3, 2008. Viewing will be held evening, May 2nd from 6-8 p.m. at Walker Mortuary and a viewing prior to services from 11:45-12:45 on . We will miss you Keith but know that someday we will all be reunited in the Eternal Life and we are looking to that day when you will take our hand and bring us home as a family forever. |
