Obituary: Ashley Ayers passed away on 8, 2015 in Tel Aviv, Israel. She was born on 24, 1980 in Corpus Christi, Texas. She attended Ray High School and the University of Texas at Austin, after which she moved to New York City and worked with artists, musicians and designers as a publicist. In 2015, she moved to Tel Aviv and oversaw public relations for a fashion start-up, of which she was very proud. New friends gathered quickly wherever she went, drawn by the fact that Ashley was, to use one of her many expressions, pretty rad. Ashley was witty, sassy and hilarious. She loved Wes Anderson films and David Sedaris books. She had sharp tastes on nearly everything. When in need of a band, book or movie recommendation, one need look no further than Ashley. She was cool but never cold, for if Ashley were to be remembered for one trait, it would be her generous, warm, kind heart. If you needed a word of encouragement, a commiserator, or a clever quip to brighten your day, Ashley was always a phone call away. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Ashley was preceded in death by her father, Dr. James Ayers, whom she loved beyond measure, and her beloved grandmothers, Louise Higbee Ayers and Edith Vaughan. Survivors include her mother, Dolly Ayers; her brothers, Christian and John Michael; her cat, Pads; and countless friends across the globe. Obituary: AYER Our dearly loved mom (Joyce) Merle Ayer passed away peacefully on 1, 2010 in her own apartment at Royal Estates of El Paso. Merle was born 16, 1921 in Abilene, Texas. Growing up, she lived all over Texas with her father J.T. Addis and 9 brothers and sisters. Merle graduated high school in Wichita Falls. As a young girl, she worked at Montgomery Ward in Corpus Christi and the Popular in downtown El Paso. She moved to El Paso in 1942 with most of her family and met the love of her life (Alfred) Louis Ayer and married 1948. Merle worked at Phelps Dodge, William Beaumont Hospital medical records and Ft. Bliss Armed Forces recruiting station. In 1955, she began her 32 year career at Physicians and Surgeons Exchange which became Contact Communications where she was the manager. Merle was a long time member of Discover El Paso. Merle was preceded in death by her husband Louis, sister Jewel Bair, brothers Leslie, Dwaine and Bobby Joe Addis, and half sisters Ethel, Vera and Eva. She is survived by her son Steve Ayer and wife Jessie, daughter Brenda George and husband Joe, brothers Tommy Ross and twin (Royce) Burl Addis, grandchildren Monica, Christopher, Rikki, James, Jennifer, Jesse, , Angie and 15 great-grandchildren. Our heartfelt gratitude goes out to her caring and loving caregiver Anita Martinez who had been with her over 5 years and to Royal Estates for a wonderful senior living experience. She will be dearly missed by many close friends and family. Obituary: Elizabeth (Libby) Ayer, 93 of Denton, passed away at her home on 6, 2014. Libby was born on 27, 1921 to Henry and Stella (Walters) Heisler in Utica, Kentucky. Elizabeth graduated from Utica High School in 1938. As a youth, she met her future husband at Pleasant Hope Church in rural Kentucky. During WWII she worked at the General Electric Kentucky Radio (Kenrad) Factory building radio tubes, contributing to the support of her family as well as the war effort. the war, Libby was married to her sweetheart, Hugh Mason Ayer on 17, 1946. She then attended cosmetology schools in Kentucky and Indiana, working for a number of years as a beautician, enabling her husbands pursuit of higher education which culminated in his PhD in American history from Indiana University. She was truly the wind beneath his wings. She and her husband were active members of the First Christian Church in Denton, Texas for 55 years and for many years were members of the Danforth Association, representing the University of North Texas. She was a past President of the U.N.T. Faculty Wives Club and for many years was active in a number of philanthropic and charitable organizations in the Denton community including P.E.O. and the Denton Community Food Bank. She was an avid bridge player and a member of several bridge clubs resulting in many treasured and enduring friendships. Her highest priority and lasting legacy though was her focus on her husband and family. She is preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Ayer; mother, Stella Heisler; and father, Henry Harrison Heisler. She is survived by her children, Margaret Mason Ayer and husband Darin Davis of Austin, TX and David Hugh Ayer and partner Katie Stark of Santa Fe, NM; grandchildren, Mason Hugh Ayer of Austin, TX and Davis Ayer of Los Angeles, CA.; and siblings, Nan Davis of Owensboro, Ky, Jane Heisler Tong of Evansville, IN, Henrietta Heisler Harrison of Owensboro, KY, Robert Heisler of Owensboro, KY, and Gene Heisler of Calhoun, KY.
