Obituary: Dan R. ÂAndy Anderson, of San Antonio, born 8, 1925 in Kaufman, Texas died , 2, 2001. A graduate of San Marcos High School in San Marcos, he moved to San Antonio in May 1946 and attended San Antonio for 1 year. Mr. Anderson retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone in 1986 after 40 years of service. Delegates of the Texas Labor Hall of Fame approved Dan Anderson CWA for membership in the Texas Labor Hall of Fame. Induction will take place at the Texas AFL-CIO COPE Convention in 2002. A plaque bearing his photo and major accomplishments will be installed in the auditorium at Texas AFL-CIO headquarters in Austin. The Texas Labor Hall of Fame was established in 1987 and currently includes 28 members. Mr. Anderson joined CWA in 1946. His union involvement included: Job Steward Â- Capital Assignment , Chair of the CWA Local 6143 Election Committee, Chief Steward Â- Assignment and Testboard, Secretary-Treasurer, CWA Local 6143, Member Ex-officio, CWA Local 6143 Finance Committee, CWA National Convention Rules Committee, and member of the San Antonio AFL-CIO. In recognition of his many years of service to the Communication Workers of America, Mr. Anderson was named Secretary-Treasurer Emeritus and the Union Hall located at 1027 N. St. MaryÂs was renamed the Dan R. Anderson Building. Mr. Anderson was a member of St. GerardÂs Catholic Church, Texas A&M Fathers Club, Telephone Pioneers of America, and American Legion, Post 539. Obituary: Dana Lee Anderson, 80, of Lubbock, Texas passed away on May 27, 2016. She was born in Stamford, Texas on 18, 1936. Dana graduated from University of North Texas with a degree in Education. She was married to Ray Douglas Anderson, and had one daughter, Ann. Dana had an impactful teaching career in the Brownfield ISD that spanned twenty years and touched the lives of many elementary school students. In a letter, a students mother thanked her for teaching her son to read and said she was proud to have a teacher like Dana in the school system. She had a passion for floral decoration and playing bridge, which she continued to play throughout her life. Dana loved spending time with her family and is survived by her daughter, Ann Hund and her husband Jim Hund; her granddaughter, Lauren; her granddaughter, Heather and her husband, Robin; and her sister Paula Carlton; many nieces and nephews; and her sweet dog, Jenny. A private memorial service will be held on , May 30th in Moran, Texas where Dana's nephew, Pastor Paul Carlton, will be presiding. On this day, Dana will be rejoined with her husband, Ray, under a grove of oak trees on the family ranch. In lieu of flowers and in honor of Dana's impactful teaching career, where she taught many young students to read, the family requests donations made to the Childrens Literacy Initiative or Shriners Hospitals for Children. |

Obituary: Dale Joy Anderson eased into her heavenly sleep , 25, 2016 at her home in Odessa. She was born in Hobbs, NM on 28, 1956. She was employed for 22 years by both Wal Marts in Odessa. Dale is survived by her husband Randy Coats, son Logan Anderson and wife Jessica with six grandchildren. She is also survived by mother Joy Lowe and husband James, father Jerry Amos and wife Sandra. Dale was blessed with sisters, Deanna Layman, Debra Reed and husband Bob, brothers, Jeff Amos and Charlotte Duarte and Greg Amos and Laura Glasscock. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews that she cherished dearly. Dale also has a half-sister in Conroe, TX, Jamie Latham Smith. She is preceded in death by her son, Justin Anderson, father, James Latham, half-brother, James Latham Jr, grandparents Thelma and Arvel Palmer and Lillie and HJ Lindsey. Dale was a wonderful homemaker, she enjoyed cooking and providing love and guidance for her children. She cherished being a mother as well as a grandmother. She was known as the Coupon Queen of Odessa and once featured in the Odessa American for her shopping prowess. She had a coupon for everything and knew how to save dollars not just dimes. Her creative and artistic talents were so awesome with the ability of Scrapbooking. She created numerous books of wonderful memories for her children and grandchildren. Dale was active with an Emmaus Group and faithful servant for many years at St. Lukes UMC. She also helped with the church food pantry, serving many needing families. Dale was a genuinely caring and loving person that would go out of her way to help her loved ones or other people she met along her lifes journey. Young or old it mattered not to her. Obituary: Corine Anderson, age 88, passed away 16, 2015. She was born on 1, 1927 to Maynard and Elnora White and raised in Seguin, Texas. Corine was married to her husband Marvin Anderson for 51 years. She was a loving mother, sister, sister-in-law, and aunt. She enjoyed family gatherings and everyone loved her barbeque. She will be remembered for her love of laughter, devotion to family, sense of humor, and strong faith in God. Corine was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughters, Christine Mizell, Barbara (Edd) Bledsoe, and Marilyn Anderson; grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Anderson; three brothers, two sisters, and grandson, Keith Mizell. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on , 26, 2015 at Memory Gardens with interment to follow at Memory Gardens . |
