Obituary: Mary Frances Almquist, 80, of Hamilton and formerly Georgetown died on 31, 2015 with her family at her bedside. She was born 13, 1935 in Manor, Texas to Chester and Mary Irene Blomquist. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Nell Bentley and her brother, Chester Blomquist, Jr. Mary Frances was employed by the Georgetown ISD for 28 years as a paraprofessional, retiring in 2001. She and her husband Steve then moved to Hamilton to be closer to their family. Mary Frances was very active in her church and the Hamilton community, especially the Salvation Army. Survivors include her Husband Steve, son Gary Almquist and wife Vickie of Dublin and daughter Pattielu Clark and husband Mark of Gustine, her sister Bonnie Todd and husband Lee. She also leaves five grandchildren and four great-grand children several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held 2:00 P.M. at the Gustine United Methodist Church on , 3, 2016 and graveside services at the Hutto Lutheran in Hutto, 9, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to the Gustine UMC, Hamilton Salvation Army with checks marked for the Kettle or the Methodist Childrens in Waco. under the direction of Riley , Hamilton, Texas. |

Obituary: Kathryn Whitmore Almquist peacefully passed from this life on 7, 2007 at her home in San Antonio, surrounded by her loving family. Kathie had a zest for life matched by few. Born on 16, 1925 into a military family in San Francisco, she loved the military life she was raised in, and chose to raise her own military family, marrying West Point graduate Peter Almquist in 1946. She loved the travel and new cultures she encountered. She was a devoted and loving mother, cheerfully encouraging her children in new endeavors, be it horseback riding, cheerleading, scouting, sports, debate or wherever their interests led. A born leader, she was elected president of the Officers Wives Clubs at four separate Air Force bases. In that capacity, she was involved in the fundraising that led to the establishment of San AntonioÂs Air Force Village retirement community. She loved bridge and was an avid Â- and very good Â- golfer, serving as president of the San Antonio WomenÂs Golf Association in 1982. Kathie did love a party. Fun, witty, and vivacious, she loved being around her friends, the Âglue group in particular, and her friends loved being around her. And it was never to be forgotten that she was the Queen. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 51 years, Col. Peter Williams Almquist; infant son, Robert; and by her cherished parents, Charles Steinhart Whitmore and Helene Butterfield Whitmore. She is survived and greatly missed by her loving family: sister, Carolyn Louise Whitmore; son, Peter Almquist and wife, Karen; daughter, Susy Almquist and partner, Bob Shy; son, Charles Almquist and wife, Dariel Mayer; and daughter, Karen Layer and husband, Steve Layer. She is also survived by grandchildren, Charlie and Travis Curtis, Brett and Kyle Layer, Lauren Almquist and Carrie Morelock; and seven great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice. |

Steve was born May 28, 1934 to Gustaf Emil and Fronie Almquist in Austin. high school, he attended the University of Texas and then he joined the US Army (active reserves). He married Mary Frances Blomquist on 25, 1954. Sadly, she preceded him in death. He was a member of Sertoma International for 22 years and worked as the Chamber Director for the city of Hamilton at the time of his retirement. Obituary: Dora Kathleen Almquist, a dedicated mother and grandmother, resident of Seguin and former resident of Hutto, Texas, passed away peacefully Early morning, 10, 2014 at Remarkable in Seguin. She was 89 years old. Dora was born to Emery and Marie (Nelson) Blackman, 13, 1925 in Hutto Texas. She attended and graduated from Hutto High School in Hutto, Texas in 1942.Upon graduation, Dora was awarded a scholarship to a business school in Austin, Texas where upon graduating she was able to obtain a position within the Texas Highway Department in Austin where she worked for several years. She married Arnold Almquist in Amarillo, Texas on 27, 1943 and raised a family together until his passing on 1, 1991. As well as providing a loving home for her family, she served her community for several years as a teachers aide at Weinert Elementary School in Seguin until 1976. Dora was a member of the First United Methodist Church family in Seguin, Texas and enjoyed being involved in the Methodist Womans Circle. Dora leaves behind her son Scott Almquist and his wife Debbie of Seguin, Texas; her daughter Sherri Riedel and her husband Wayne of Marion, Texas; as well as her grandchildren Andrew Almquist of Seguin, Kristin Griffin and her husband Brian of Seguin; Jennifer Riedel of Midland, Texas; Sean Riedel of Marion and her sister Sue Holmstrom of Georgetown, Texas. Obituary: Tommy Neal Almond, 86, passed away peacefully on 11, 2016 at Silverado Memory in Bee Cave, TX. He was born on May 11, 1930 in Broken Bow, OK to Tony and Mamie Almond. Tommy is survived by two children; Stephen Neal Almond (Patty) of Austin, TX and David Thomas Almond (Carmen) of Houston, TX, six grandchildren; Ryan Thomas Abbott of Philadelphia, PA, Lindsay Anne Dziedziula (Brent) of San Antonio, TX, Sherry Christine Olk (James) of Mackenbach, Germany, Thomas Anthony Almond of Houston, TX, Stephen Jared Almond of Galveston, TX, Sarah Elizabeth Seydler (AJ) of Houston, TX, five great grandchildren; Zoe Anne Dziedziula, Samantha Rose Almond, Korie Faith Dziedziula, Tyler Anthony Almond, James Aiden Olk, and Patty Almond’s daughter, Lisa Ann Hovermale of Austin, TX and three children; Lauren, McKaila and Jace. Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Clarice and daughter Christy Anne Payne of Corpus Christi, TX. Tommy grew up in Broken Bow, OK and graduated from Broken Bow High School in 1949 where he was a star offensive and defensive back on the school’s football team. He met his wife, Clarice Anne Pratt, while enrolled at East Central State in Ada, OK and playing halfback on the football team. Tom and Clarice were married on 29, 1952 at the First Baptist Church in Wewoka, OK. He graduated from East Central in 1953 with a BS in Education. He was then drafted into the Army and served a two year stint at Fort Smith, AR as a gunnery sergeant. The couple then moved to Raymondville, TX where he was hired at Raymondville ISD as a middle school teacher and football coach. He soon was promoted to the school’s head football coach which the team went on to several years of exceptional records. During his stay in Raymondville, Tom received a Master of Science degree from Texas of Arts and Industries (now Texas A&M University-Kingsville) and later a BS of Vocational Counseling at Prairie View A&M University. eight years at Raymondville ISD, two at Corpus Christi Carroll and two at Haltom City High School near Fort Worth, TX, the couple returned to Corpus Christi where Tommy continued his football coaching career at Carroll High School and later as a vocational counselor at Corpus Christi ISD. He retired from teaching and counseling in 1990 and began pursuing other personal interests in fishing, golf and visiting his growing family across America. Tommy loved to be with his family, listening to music and singing in the church choir, playing golf, watching sporting events on television and traveling across the US to visit with old friends, college buddies and family. The family gratefully acknowledges the loving support of Bob and Toncy Dickson, Pastor Charles of Jackson Woods Presbyterian Church and the staff and caregivers of Silverado Memory in Bee Cave, TX. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a contribution be made to Jackson Woods Presbyterian Church. Visitation will be held at Memory Gardens on , 16, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Service will be held at Jackson Woods Presbyterian Church, 10500 Stonewall Blvd on , 17, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. with Interment to follow at Memory Gardens .
