Obituary: William A. Bill Austin III, of Germantown, passed away on , May 29, 2015, at the age of 73. Bill spent his whole childhood in Coldwater, MS, and went on to attend Northwest Mississippi Junior and later graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a bachelors degree in biology. He taught school for four years in the 60s and refereed for high school basketball. Bill worked as a sales representative for Abbott Laboratories for 35 years until his retirement. He was an avid golfer, very active member and past president, lieutenant governor and photographer for the Germantown Kiwanis club. Bill most of all was a devoted husband, father, and a doting grandfather. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, and his brother. Bill leaves his loving wife of 53 years, Linda W. Austin, his children Scott Austin, Kim Brown and husband Jackie, Mark Austin, and three grandsons Chandler Brown, Cory Austin, Brayden Austin. There will be a gathering of friends and family from twelve noon on , 2, 2015, until service time at two oclock p.m., at Memphis , 5599 Poplar Ave, Memphis, TN, with interment to follow in Memorial Park Southwoods . The family requests any memorials to the American Diabetes Association or St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital. Bill will be greatly missed by his family and all his friends. 901-725-0100 |

Obituary: Mrs. Viola Ruth Austin age 92, of Nashville, TN, passed away on , 9, 2017. Mrs. Austin was born in Sparta, TN, on May 30, 1924, the daughter of the late Waymon Douglas Thurman and Prissey Lee Tayler Thurman. She retired as a beautician after many years of service. Mrs. Austin was preceded in death by her husband, Ammon Austin. Survivors include her son, Douglas Austin; two grandsons, Douglas Evan Austin and Eric Curtis Austin; and three great-grandchildren. Graveside and interment services will be held , 13, 2017, at one o’clock, Woodlawn Memorial Park. Gathering of Family & Friends will be held from eleven o’clock until the funeral hour at Woodlawn Roesch-Patton .
