Obituary: Matthew B. Areford, age 50 of Rices Landing, died , 23, 2016 unexpectedly. He was born 5, 1965 in Akron, OH, a son of Nancy S. Rush and the late Dale W. Areford. Mr. Areford was a veteran of Operation Desert Storm and the Global War on Terrorism, having served in the United States Marine Corps from 1986 to 1992. He also served serval years in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. He worked as a corrections officer at SCI Greene in Waynesburg. Matt loved brewing beer at home, hunting, fishing and cooking. On 29, 1995 he married Angie J. (Smith) Areford, who survives. Also surviving is his mother and step-father, Nancy Rush Metz and her husband Mike of Carmichaels; three children, Aaron M. Areford of Florida, Robert W. Woodring and his wife Toni of Reston, VA, and Amanda D. Duranko of Pittsburgh; two grandchildren, Morgaine Rico-Woodring and Harley Woodring-Rico; two sisters, Theresa Irwin (Dave) of Holly, MI, Loretta Crouch (Mark) of Masontown; two brothers, Delbert Areford (Shannon) of Camden, SC and Johnny Lasko (Kelli) of Carmichaels. Deceased in addition to his father is a brother, Charles Lasko. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. , in the Behm s, Inc., 1477 Jefferson Rd., Jefferson, PA 15344, Gregory P. Rohanna, supervisor, where funeral services will be held on , 29, 2016 at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Calvin Linderman officiating. Interment will follow in the National of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville. Obituary: Frank A. Areford, 74 or Waynesburg, died , 1, 2015, unexpectedly at Washington Hospital, Washington. He was born 14, 1940 in Quaker Hill, a son of the late Ewing and Cecil Knight Areford. Mr. Areford had served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a carpenter and welder by trade. Mr. Areford was a minister of a church at one time and enjoyed preaching and teaching the Bible. He also enjoyed playing music and singing, especially on his guitar. On 11, 2006 he married Lori Glunt, who survives. Also surviving are four sons, Frank A. (Mia) Areford of Rincon, GA, Quintin (Jody) Areford of Canonsburg, Tim (Carrie) Areford of Hillstation, Lyle (Georjean) Areford of Masontown; two daughters, (Dan) Beatty of Canonsburg, and Holly (Justin) Anderson of Washington; 17 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; a brother, Sam Areford of Holbrook; three sisters, Sarah Boone and Letha Vernon both of Greensboro, and Betty Rockwell of Jefferson; his ex-wife, Barbara Areford of Rincon, GA; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are six brothers, William, James, Daniel, Ewing, Walker, and Dale Areford; and a sister, Dorothy Headlee. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm in the Behm s Inc., 1477 Jefferson Road, Jefferson, PA 15344, Gregory P. Rohanna, supervisor, where services will held at 2:00 p.m., , 5, 2015.
