Obituary: Gloria M. Ankrom, age 54, of McArthur, passed away , 18, 2017 at the Holzer Medical in Jackson, Ohio. She was born 13, 1962 in Sanford, Florida, daughter of the late Donald James Sprague and Marie Ballard Sprague. Gloria, a 1981 graduate of Vinton High School, was a licensed minister with the United Methodist Conference. She was currently the Pastor at the New Plymouth United Methodist Church. Gloria was also a loving homemaker who was employed by the Vinton Schools. She was an accomplished artist who enjoyed oil painting and spending time with her family. Gloria is survived by her husband of 25 years, Bart Ankrom; children, Zachary D. Canode (Angela) of Hamden, Sylvia Music (Randall) of West Jefferson, Diana Hurne (Greg Powell) of Londonderry, Austin Delvin James Ankrom of McArthur and Trinity Dawn Ankrom of McArthur; 13 grandchildren, Ashlyn Canode, Easton Canode, Riley Deck, Madison Deck, Emma Deck, Mariah Lytle, Gabrielle Lytle, Nevaeh Lytle, Maylee Lytle, Timothy Lytle, Benson Music, Taylor Music and Lilly Hurne; brother, Arthur Sprague (Connie) of Minnesota; sisters, Janette Biorn (David) of California, Donna Hatton of Minnesota and Nancy Ragsdale of California, along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Besides her parents, Gloria was preceded in death by her first husband, Timothy Canode, and her brothers, Steve Sprague and Donald Lane Sprague. Calling hours will be from 6 to 8 P.M. at the McWilliams in Wellston. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 4 P.M. at the McWilliams with Rev. Walt Goble officiating. In keeping with Glorias wishes, cremation will follow the service and burial will be at the convenience of the family in the Mt. Olive . |
