Obituary: Douglas John Allen, 66, of Charlotte died , 13, 2009 at his home. A native of San Francisco, CA, Mr. Allen was born to the late Carl Raymond Allen and Mary Povlsen Allen on 29, 1942. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. Mr. Allen is survived by his daughters; Donna Gray of Las Vegas, NV, Lori Allen of California, son; Glenn Allen of Arizona, brother, Paul Allen of Charlotte, seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. A memorial service will be held 3:00p.m., , 22 in the chapel at Wilson and Cremation Service, 5301 Albemarle Rd., with Stephen Minister, Robert L. Kennedy officiating. Obituary: Dorothy Ann Garris Allen, 77, died at Duke Raleigh Hospital. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend, who enjoyed spending time with her family. She was also an avid gardener and shopper and was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witnesses. services will be held 1:00 pm at Brown-Wynne , Millbrook Road. Burial will follow at Brier Creek Memorial Gardens. Surviving are her husband of 57 years, Edward Louis Allen; sons, Glen Allen and wife Maria and Scott Allen and wife Megan of Raleigh; daughters, Rose Summerlin and husband Bruce of Garner, Ann Thomas and husband Bill of Raleigh and Donna Lewis and husband Jim of Whitsett; sisters, Naomi Buck and husband Garland and Peggy Haddock and husband O.C. of Greenville; fourteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
