Obituary: Obituary Lupe Arrington passed away peacefully with family members present. She is survived by her husband, Tom Myers, her children Ana, Angela, and Albert, and 18 grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Maria and Rose, and brothers Edward and Jesse. She was born in Naco, Sonora, Mexico and moved to San Diego in 1957. Lupe was a devout Catholic, attending Our Lady of Grace in Fletcher Hills. She loved to travel, and one of her many vacations was to the Holy Land in , 2008. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Cruz Martinez, and her daughter Alisa Arrington. Mass at Our Lady of Grace on 20, 2015 at 10:30. We love you, Lupe, and will miss you always. - Biography Lupe was the daughter of Edward and Cruz Martinez. She was raised in Naco, Sonora Mexico and at the age of 11 relocated to San Diego, CA. Lupe adapted well to American culture, and one of her greatest assets was being bilingual. She was the oldest of five children, having younger sisters and brothers, Maria, Rose, Edward and Jesse. Lupe was very accepting and supportive of her family. She was perceived as the central person in her family in terms of keeping communication open between the family members and coordinating the family gatherings. These traits served Lupe well in her adult life and drew the admiration of many who knew her. During her high school years, Lupe responded enthusiastically to any new project, was a great student and did well in her courses. Her favorite class in high school was History, and she never missed any school dances. She graduated from Kearney High School in 1965. She ead people well, loved to people watch, and throughout her life she made many friends. While growing up, her two best friends were her sister Maria and Alba Sanchez. She enjoyed Bunco, Poker Parties and BBQs with friends. Lupe was tenderhearted and thoughtful, qualities that served her well in helping to nurture her family. She was a dedicated mother who was active in PTA and school activities, Brownies, Girl Scouts, Bobby Sox and Gymnastics. She was a natural and creative parent who was willing to provide her family with all sorts of new and interesting vacation experiences including San Felipe, Disneyland, Knotts Berry Farm, Borrego and Palm Springs. For Lupe, parenting was an enjoyable and pleasurable part of her life. Lupe's skill at understanding her children's feelings and her sensitivity to their needs enabled her to care for other children in her home as well. Lupe was blessed with five children: Ana, Angela, , Alisa and Albert. She later married Thomas Myers and they became a blended family of 12 children, adding Paul, Melissa, Jonathan, Emily, Sarah, Katie and Mike. were also blessed with eighteen grandchildren: Michael, Chelsea, Cassandra, Alexia, Analisa, Abriana, Maribel, Ethan, Colton, Ryleigh, Nick, Caleb, Ellie, Gracie, Georgia, Natalie, Abigail and Mason. She also was expecting two great-grandchildren due in the next few months. Lupe had an incredible work ethic, never missing work and stressing punctuality in herself and others. Her primary occupation was office assistant. She was employed by a Real Estate Appraisal Office for 20+ years, which just happened to be Tom Myers' company, and most recently a Dermatologist office. For a time she was a Notary, and also did home staging, having a gift for interior design and decorating. Lupe had numerous interests including ceramics, piano, dancing, painting, reading, attending plays, tennis, racquetball and traveling. While traveling she quickly stepped outside of her comfort zone and engaged in activities that she normally wouldn do, such as cross-country skiing, hiking, water rafting, climbing pueblo ruins and more. Her favorite vacations included New York, New Orleans, Hawaii and Puerto Penasco (Rocky Point), Mexico. Lupe was a woman who was dedicated and devoted to her faith. She was a lifelong Catholic, attending Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for the past 10 years. She participated in Bible Studies and would travel every to Tucson, Arizona to celebrate the feast of the Immaculate Conception. She also visited the Holy Land in , 2008, with her cousin Dora Martinez. She passed her faith on to her children by enrolling them into CCD classes and the two youngest children attended Catholic Schools. Although she claimed not to be an animal lover, she had several animals including a goat, cats, rabbits, duck, parakeet, fish, dogs and her favorite Sharpe dog named Buster. Lupe was a wonderful wife, amazing mother, loyal friend and glue to the family. She will be missed greatly. Lupe Arrington passed away on 11, 2015 in San Diego, California. Services were held at Our Lady of Grace and Lupe was laid to rest in Holy Cross Catholic .
