Obituary: Rufina Abrigo Aquino, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend passed away peacefully on 17, 2014, at the age of 98. She was born on 30, 1916, in Amungan, Iba, Zambales, Philippines to Isidoro and Maria Abrigo. Rufina lived a fulfilling life. She was a grade school teacher at the Bancal Elementary School where she taught, inspired, and motivated students to succeed. In 1977, after forty years, Rufina retired from the profession that she loved. In 1983, she and husband Jose moved to San Diego, California where they both enjoyed their time together traveling, gardening, continuously learning, and spending time with loved ones. Rufina firmly believed in the importance of family, unconditional love, and happiness. Rufina is predeceased by her husband Jose of 63 years, her parents, brother Laureano, nephew Jim, and niece Carol. She is survived by her five children- Eddie (Ellie), Benny (Mercy), Ely (Dina), Josefina, and Thelma (Ben). She is also survived by her nephews Victor (Belen), Robert (Betty), Manny (Nanette), nieces Evelyn, Lillian (Frank), and Kathy (Wayne), many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, relatives, and friends. Visitation will be held on , 26th from 5-9 p.m. with a 6:30 p.m. Rosary at Glen Abbey Memorial Park & Mortuary- Chapel of Roses, 3838 Bonita Rd., Bonita, CA 91902. On , 27, 2014, a Mass will be held at St. Marys Catholic Church, 426 E. Seventh Street, National City, CA 91950 at 9:00 a.m., followed by interment at Glen Abbey. |

Obituary: Patrick Joseph Aquino 1949 - 2017 Patrick Joseph Aquino, age 67, of Santa Clarita, California passed away from colon cancer peacefully in his home with his loving wife and best friend of 45 years, Barbara (Moffatt) Aquino, by his side. Born 30, 1949 in Chicago, Illinois to late parents Rocco and Josephine Aquino, Pat grew up with his sisters; Marion and Janice and his brothers; John, Tom and late brother Rocky. In 1971, he married Barbara Moffatt, the love of his life. Together they raised five children in Illinois: sons; Michael and Dominic Aquino and daughters; Tiffany (Aquino) Chester, Danielle Aquino, and Gionna (Aquino) Dudra. Son-in-laws; John Dudra, Greg Chester, and Adam Whitney also survive Pat. He leaves behind five grandchildren: Brianne and Hailey Dudra, Ella and Braeden Chester, and Matthew Whitney. Pat was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law and uncle. Pat was a Vietnam War veteran with the rank of Lance Corporal and worked as a field radio communications operator during the war with the United States Marine Corps. He served his country with honor and dignity. Pat worked as a General Manager at UPS for 20 years. Later, he transitioned into the United States Navy to pursue a career as an Information Security Advisor. Pat was a smart individual who developed computer software and integration systems and authored many digital readers. Pats colorful personality was a source of laughter and joy for those who knew him. His focus was his family and friends, and he enjoyed nothing more than a great plate of Italian cuisine and conversation with those he loved. He will be laid to rest on 23, 2017 at Eternal Valley Memorial Park in Newhall, California. Pat requested a private funeral service and asked that donations be made to the Wounded Warriors Project in lieu of flowers. |

Obituary: PATRICIA ANN AQUINO - Patricia Ann Aquino, 73 of Delano, CA went to be with her Lord on May 29, 2014. Patricia was born in Earlimart, CA on 24, 1940 to Laurence (Freddie) and Nina Aquino. She spent nearly her entire life in Delano and attended Cecil Avenue Elementary School and Delano High School where she graduated with the class of 1958. high school, Patsy lived in Long Beach, CA where she worked at the local phone company. She returned to Delano in 1962 when her daughter was born. In 1966, she took a job with the State of California in the Department of Industrial Accidents (Worker's Compensation Appeals Board), a job she loved and worked there for 37 years until her retirement in 2003. Patsy was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and for many years hosted The Celebrant Singers at the church. She was involved in RCIA and CCD and volunteered for many events. During this time, she joined a Night Bible Study where she made some lifelong friends and although she has been unable to attend this group for a few years now, she was still in touch with all of them. She enjoyed the ocean and took many day trips to Morro Bay and Cayucos with her daughter who was her traveling companion. She and her daughter, Kristi made many happy memories together on their adventures. vacationed in Puerto Vallarta on several occasions with their cousins and took trips to Las Vegas any time they got the chance. Patsy also loved her Los Angeles Dodgers and attended many games at Dodger Stadium. She and her daughter also shared a love for-music and loved to go to concerts together. Patricia loved life and never knew a stranger. She had a gift of striking up a conversation with anyone. In fact, some of the patients at dialysis are only Spanish-speaking, but somehow, she managed to carry on a conversation with them. Patsy also loved her family and the family home she lived in for nearly 60 years was the gathering place. Many Thanksgivings were shared with family around her table as well as simple family potlucks and gatherings with cousins throughout the years. Most of all, Patsy love her Lord. She was a prayer warrior and on the nights she couldn't sleep, she would pray for just about everyone. On the day she left us for Heaven, one of her last words was, "Jesus." Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, Laurence and Nina Aquino and is survived by her one and only daughter, Kristina Castro of Delano, CA, numerous cousins and many close friends. The family would like to say a special thanks to Davita Dialysis for their kindness and tender care of Patricia for the last three years. Also to the doctors and nursing staff at San Joaquin Community Hospital. Services will be held on , 13, 2014 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 1015 Clinton Street in Delano, CA at 10 am. Graveside will follow at North Kern in Delano. under the direction of Delano Mortuary, Delano, CA. |
