Obituary: Kenneth G. Antonich 23, 1923 - 5, 2016 Born in 1923 in Black Eagle, Montana, Kenneth was a resident of Sacramento for the past six years, moving from San Mateo in 2010. In his early years, he traveled the world with his family as part of his fathers work assignments. He loved to learn, attending Gonzaga Prep School, MIT and graduating from Georgetown University. During the war, he met his future wife Eleanor, at Camp Maxie, Texas. were together 63 years and almost reached their 60th wedding anniversary, which was one month after Eleanors passing. Their marriage produced two children, their son Kenneth M. Antonich and their daughter, Elissa K. Maas. Ken worked for 32 years for the US Customs Service, starting in Washington DC. Not long after the birth of their two children, Ken was transferred to San Francisco, including work time during the Viet Nam war. It was common for the divisions he ran to receive packages from Viet Nam containing illegal drugs, guns, ammunition and deadly reptiles alive and waiting to bite! His teams job was to intercept these and safely get them put away. During those years, Ken stayed in the Army Reserves and retired as a Major after 25 years of service. Ken was a very generous man with his time telling stories, participating in the Scouts with his son, Ken, sharing political interests with his daughter, Elissa and with his loving support of his family. He passed away on evening, 5th in Sacramento CA, being with us almost 93 years. He is survived by his son Ken and Kens wife Elaine, their son James, his wife Linze, their sons Dominic, Kaiden, Gavin and daughter, Kalia and son Bryan, his wife Lindsay, their daughters MacKenzie and Zoe; and his daughter Elissa and her husband Chuck Maas, MD, and their daughters Allison Brown, her husband Tim and their daughters Kaylin and Clara and son Dylan, and Karen Broadus, her husband Aaron and sons Noah, Benaiah and Gabriel. He will be missed. We are happy, though, that now he is dancing with his wife Eleanor in Heaven. |

Obituary: Antonicelli, Alfred Frank 01/09/1925 ~ 12/30/2014 SAN DIEGO -- Alfred Frank Antonicelli, known to some as Franco, but to most as Frank, was born in San Diego on 9, 1925. His father, Pasquale, immigrated to the United States in 1913 at the age of 18, from his native Italy, Gioia del Colle. moving to San Diego he met a beautiful young Italian girl, Nunziella Beltipo, whom he married. Frank was their only child. Nunziella died at the young age of 28 from tuberculosis. During her hospitalization, Frank was foster cared for by Kate Sessions, the botanist and "mother of Balboa Park." Frank's father was Kate Sessions most loyal and dedicated employee, serving as her right hand man in the planning and development of Balboa Park. Frank experienced the loss of his mother at the young age of eight years old. His father returned to his village in Italy, met and later married Angela Isdraele Romano. Angela raised Frank into adulthood, becoming as close to him as any natural mother could be. Both Frank and his father, Pasquale, loved the United States, one serving in World War I and Frank in World War II. Frank's service included over two years in the Pacific as a Navy radarman aboard a destroyer escort, the Bowers. During his service he received numerous decorations that included the Purple Heart. He returned to San Diego after an honorable discharge to join the family business with his father, who by then had opened his own nursery business on Washington Street in Mission Hills. The family's collective dream of success in the U.S. was becoming a reality. The nursery business served as the foundation for what became the largest land holding in Mission Hills by any single property owner. Frank never lost his rather humble approach to life nor his love for his long lasting heritage. He met and married the true love of his life and soul mate, Sara Caburlotto, in 2011, a lovely Italian lady whom he too met in Italy. Frank was a remarkable man of the utmost integrity, a most generous philanthropist to many in need, a founding figure in the Mission Hills community, a wonderful friend to many, a continuing presence to his immediate family, and a most loving husband. He will be missed by all that knew him and will remain in our hearts forever. A celebration of his life will be held at 10:00 a.m., on 9 2015, at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 4080 Hawk Street, San Diego 92103. Interment shall be immediately thereafter at Holy Cross , 4470 Hilltop Drive, San Diego 92102. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Vincent de Paul School, Rady Childrens Hospital, Make A Wish Foundation , or a charity of your choice . The family would like to thank everyone for their support and love in remembering Frank. |

In 1959 Dad went to work for the Humboldt Hospital as the chief accountant/assistant administrator. He always worked many jobs through his working career and was the bookkeeper for several small local businesses besides his regular employment. He was appointed to the Board of Directors of the Humboldt Employees Federal Credit Union with 25 members in the early 60s. In 1970 he opened the first office of the Credit Union at 5th and O Streets in Eureka. He began to grow the Credit Union quickly and it was relocated to 3rd and K Streets. During this time, Dad started Redwood Central Credit Union and eventually merged the Employee Federal Credit Union into the state chartered Redwood Central Credit Union forming Coast Central Credit Union. He remained the CEO/President of Coast Central Credit Union until his retirement in 1990.
