Obituary: Bill Ahlenslager, a life-long resident of Fresno, California passed away peacefully on , 8, 2014, in Fresno, California at the age of 87. He was born on 16, 1926, to Henry and Marie Christina Ahlenslager. Of Volga-German descent, Bill's parents immigrated to California from Russia. graduating from Edison High School in 1943, Bill served three years in the United States Navy in the V-5 and V-12 Programs and a posting in the Philippines. Bill attended Arizona State University, Texas Christian University, and Fresno State University. While visiting the State Fair in Sacramento, California, he met Margaret Elizabeth Anderson, the love of his life. married on 3, 1950, and raised two children, Kathleen Elizabeth and William Henry, Jr. Bill's 39-year professional career included the Corps of Engineers, Division of Highways and CalOSHA, retiring in 1986, as a district manager. He earned certification as a Civil, Safety, and Traffic Engineer. Bill was active in the California State Employees Association, rising to Vice President. He was a 55 year member and past master of Las Palmas Ponderosa Masonic Lodge. Bill farmed the family raisin vineyard and his own. He was a voracious reader with a photographic memory and aviaries of parakeets or homing pigeons. Bill was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Melvin LeRoy and James Norman; and sister, Dona Napolitano. Bill is survived by his wife Margaret; daughter Kathleen; son Bill; granddaughter, Elise Loggers; sisters, King and Bernice Lowe; brother Leslie; 16 nieces and nephews; son-in-law, Chris Loggers; and dearest friend, Peggy Dedier Krpan. Bill's family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff at Nazareth House for their great care. A Celebration of Life will be held at Stephens & Bean Chapel, 202 N. Teilman Ave., Fresno, California on 14, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. |

Obituary: 89 years of guidance, love, and care, our mom Vivian Ahle, passed away unexpectedly on 10, 2013. She passed on peacefully with all of her 11 children and many grandchildren watching over her. She was loved by all of us and we appreciated her for the giving spirit she gave us with every breath of her life. We will and already miss her, but she now joins our dad and they can continue their dance together forever. Vivian was born in Pasadena in 1924. She attended Mt. St. Marys in Los Angeles. She married Robert Ahle in 1948 and eventually moved to Long Beach where she lived until her death. She is survived by all her 11 children, Susan, Louise, Nancy, Steve, Diane, Dave, Pat, Tim, Joe, Matt and Andy, as well as 29 grandchildren, and 12 1/2 great grandchildren. She was a constant presence at St Cyprians Church where she worked as both employee and volunteer for over 50 years. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, St Cyprians Senior Club, book- reading club, a member of the ACCW (Archdiocese Council of Catholic Women) and a bible study club. She was often found driving he girls to bridge at several senior citizens centers. She was a powerful woman of prayer \ as her kids referred to her many times throughout her life. She always had a kind word for everyone and a patient listening ear. She was the closest thing to a living saint whose faith this world will truly miss. Visitation from 6 \ 7 pm with Rosary at 7 pm at Luyben Family Dilday-Mottell Mortuary. Mass at 9:30 am at St. Cyprian Church with internment to follow at All Souls .
