De joven se mudó a la capital de Managua, donde conoció a su esposo, Julio César Martínez García. Ella contrajo matrimonio el 18 de diciembre de 1955, permaneciendo casada casi 50 años hasta que su esposo falleció. Por medio de su hijo, Miguel, creció el interés de ella en los testigos de Jehová, y aunque tarde en la vida, llegó a conocer la verdad y dedicarse en bautismo como crisitiana sierva de Dios. María Teresa se distinguía por su generosidad, hospitalidad, sentido del humor y gran amor que sentía por su familia; razón por la que radicaba en EE.UU, ya que el amor por su patria era muy grande y siempre soñaba regresar a Nicaragua. Era de profesión secretaria para un gabinete de abogados en Managua. En su tiempo de ocio se dedicó a criar sus hijos, también le encantaba diseñar ropa, alta costura y salir de compras con sus hermanas y nueras. Le encantaba la lengua española y le instaba a sus nietos a aprender ortografía y pronunciación. Roció Dúrcal, Juan Gabriel, Luis Miguel, Rod Stewart y Vicente Fernández eran sus cantantes favoritos y disfrutaba de la música de ellos. Intentó aprender inglés, pero a ella le resulto muy difícil. She was born on 22, 1953 in Monterey, Mexico to Manuel and Josefa Sepulveda. She is survived by her children, Elizabeth, Cesar, Miguel Angel and Yvette Acevedo. Grandchildren, Jaime, Jr., Joseph Manuel, Isabel and Jacob Gutierrez also, Alexander James Acevedo. Her mother, Josefa Delgado and sisters, Juana, Maria, Alicia and Maria Guadalupe Sepulveda and Josefina Montemayor. Maria was a teacher for more than 45 years.
