Obituary: Layne Abeel passed away from cancer Oct. 26, 2014. He was at home with his family nearby. He was born in Sebastopol, California, Aug. 26, 1939, to Kent and Esther Abeel. He went to school in Sebastopol and Fort Bragg. The family moved to Napa in 1955. He graduated from Napa High in 1957, then served in the Air Force for five years. He married Carol Ruha in 1963. had two sons, Jeff and Marc. He worked for PG&E for 38 years. retiring, he drove the Yountville Shuttle for 10 years. Layne also liked cars, politics and puttering in his garage. He was predeceased by his parents, his son, Marc, and older brother Jim Abeel. He is survived by his loving wife, his son, his brother, Theron Abeel, and many other friends and relatives who loved him dearly. Services will be private with burial at Tulocay. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Napa Valley Hospice, the Cancer Society, Community Projects, or a charity of your choice. |

Sadie is survived by her sisters, Etsuko Nakano, Yasuko Nakahara, Fusae Nishina, Shigeko Hirai, brothers Ichiro Kikumoto and Hideo Kikumoto; sons Mitchell (Lynn) Abe and Curtis (Marina) Abe; grandchildren Aiko Abe and Kenzo Abe.
