Obituary: Patricia Luanne (Warner) Allen, 82, of Battle Creek, left to be with our Lord, , 11, 2015. Surrounded by her family who loved her dearly, she passed peacefully at home after a brief illness. She was born in Rives Junction, a small village near Jackson, Michigan on May 10, 1932. A graduate of Leslie High School, she received her RN certificate from Henry Ford Hospital School of in 1953 and worked for three years as an operating room nurse in the field of Orthopedics. It was there she met the love of her life, Dr. Richard H. Allen. were married in 1955 and moved from Detroit to Battle Creek the following year. Passionate about improving the lives of others, Patricia gave freely and generously of her time chairing ten boards and otherwise helping organizations far too numerous to list. A small sample of her volunteer activities includes state and county medical societies and auxiliaries, Junior League, League of Women Voters, Visiting Nurse Service, Emily Andrus Association, the Art of Battle Creek and PEO Chapter CA. She was a delegate to the White House Conference for a Drug Free America, Junior League Sustainer of the Year in 2000 and graduated from Battle Creek Leadership Academy in 1989. Patricia loved spending time with her family and considered herself blessed to have had such a wonderful group of friends. She was known to be a fantastic cook and lifelong learner who enjoyed playing the piano, oil painting, and the needle arts. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Ellen (Burch) Warner, her brother, Robert Warner and brother-in-law, Jerry Foote. Patricia is survived by her husband, Dr. Richard H. Allen of Battle Creek; her daughter, Elizabeth (William) Weber of Norway, Wisconsin; her sons, Douglas Allen of Battle Creek and David (Julie) Allen of Three Rivers; seven grandchildren; sister, Janet Foote of Jackson and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. We will all miss her wonderful smile, great humor, wise advice, and zest for life. The family will receive friends from 4 until 8:00 p.m. , 16, 2015 at Shaw . Services will take place 11:00 a.m. , 17, 2015 at First Congregational Church, 145 Capital Ave., N.E., Battle Creek, with Rev. Tom Ott officiating. Interment, Oak Hill , Janesville, Wisconsin.
