He was born on , 31, 1947 in Louisville, Missouri to the late Anna Lou Cook and the late Joel Richard Acton. He was a resident of Tickfaw, Louisiana. Richard was a retired horseman and a Navy veteran, as well as a historian of the Civil War. He was a simple man who loved spending time with his grandchildren. Richard is survived by his step-children, Vivian McDonald, Curtis Brown (Debbie), Russel Brown (Julie), Mike Brown (Beth), Elizabeth Brown Bryant (Matthew), and Bobby Brown (Dawn); 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
